Dr. William Joseph Kaufold, MD

After asking a couple routine questions, he abruptly decided that I needed artificial tears and prescription drops. His justification? No one my age could really need bifocals, so it must be chronic dry eye. When I protested, he became defensive and even downright hostile. I just wanted an updated prescription, to replace a newly broken pair. Dr. Kaufold tried to send me home without one, forcing me to wait a month for it because he was so convinced of his theory. All I wanted was for that appointment to be over (and my prescription)! Dr. Kaufold made me feel small, because his ego mattered more to him than my care. I am never going back to this practice, and would not recommend him to others.

The only 2 things I do not like about this office is not getting appointment cards for my calendar, the 8X11 sheet gets torn and lost, and also that they no longer use the inside window, do not like giving my personal info in the small waiting room for all to hear. My ex boss and several past patients sat there and heard my info, not HIPAA compliant.

Dr. Kaufold is an exceptional eye doctor -- I am 74 years old and have had several eye doctors throughout the decades -- He is the best -- he is interested, he listens, he is personal and he is exceptionally professional -- he puts his patients at ease and preps them beautifully for surgery -- and his follow-ups are the best -- Highly recommend.
