Every doctor should be like Dr. Magill

I've had four children. Dr. Magill was my first O.B and he set the standard for all other doctors. In other words, his rudeness and clear disregard for my well-being and wishes helped me clarify what I didn't ever want to deal with ever again. He was impatient and controlling and ran numerous invasive unnecessary tests. The one time I finally asserted myself, he yelled at me. I've since learned that this is his M.O. The icing on the cake was when he took it upon himself to stimulate my cervix without my consent after I refused to induce on the due date because he decided (without evidence--all lab tests were normal) that I was at risk for toxemia. I mentioned to a friend (a nurse) how uncomfortable the previous pelvic exam had been and how indifferent the doctor was to my complaint and she explained what he'd probably done. She was furious for my sake. I went into labor the next day and--fortunately--he wasn't on duty. The OB who did the delivery was quite familiar with Dr. Magill… and stated that I was in no danger of toxemia.

You are the best doctor I ever had.. You are very honest and always right about everything.. Your staff was the best as well. I would tell the whole world about you..

Dr. Magill not only was my OB doctor when I had my son in 1991 but also was my daughters OB doctor when she had my first grandson in 2011. He is the most awesome doctor and the best bedside manner. My daughter is due again but Dr. Magill has since retired and won't be able to deliver my second grandson. I and my daughter will miss him greatly.

He ignored my leg problems during my pregnancy. Didn't try to listen or diagnose it, just said "Sorry, it's a part of pregnancy". When I was in labor, he KEPT asking if I wanted pain meds after I told him numerous times I wanted it as natural as possible. He wouldn't let me get out of bed, for no reason, didn't tell me what antibotic he was giving me and why. Just gave it to me. I had to have a c-section and afterward he put a jp drain in me. NO one ever uses those!!! It was awful.
