He took the time to ask appropriate questions and truly listen to us so he could make the right diagnosis. He clearly explained the proper care, where we should start, and what the next steps would be if further treatment was needed.

Disclosure: I am a physician, and interact with all sorts of specialties. I am posting this in regard to the care my mother in law has received with Dr. Roche. I do not work with him professionally. We have had a long course of seeing Neurologist in Macon and up at Piedmont in Atlanta and Emory for some very significant neurologic issues in my mother-in-law. Dr. Roche has been amazing. We finally got a diagnosis of a fairly rare neurological condition.. Dr. Roche and his staff have been excellent to work with. Neurologist can be difficult to get an appointment with, and as a speciality in general we've come across many neurologist's that are cold, very, very smart, but don't have much bedside manner. Dr, Roche has a fantastic bedside manner, is very caring, and is a great Neurologist. To have someone of his caliber in Macon is a blessing for the area..

While his vocal tone and demeanor seem gentle and somewhat soft this belies his arrogance when one pays attention to his words. His actual words were dismissive and demeaning. He fixated on a couple of things in the medical history to the detriment of my concerns and empirical evidence. He had clearly made up his mind in contradiction to other doctors and even his own colleague. When he was called out on it, rather than admitting he could be wrong, he doubled down attempted to defend his posit with an even less likely differential diagnosis. He clearly does not like patients who think or advocate for themselves. If you are a mindless automaton, this is the neurologist for you. An absolute waste of months of waiting to see a neurologist.
