Dr Ryan helped me to understand my condition and steps that need to be taken care off. He is also kind, knowledgeable and compassionate.

After a series of two months worth of worrying an unease, we found out the worst news any parent wants to hear. Our ENT told us that he has never dealt with this specific form of salivary gland cancer and felt that our care would be better handled by Dr. Ryan (who agreed to my daughter on as a patient). I can't express the load or worry that was lifted from our hearts after our first visit. His confidence, gave us confidence and most importantlythe hope we needed. He answered every single question we had (and I had a lot of them) and was wonderful with my daughter.

I was 25 when I was diagnosed with a parotid tumor. After an inconclusive biopsy, I was told surgery was my next step, which lead me to researching good doctors and UCSF. It was located in the deep lobe, which is where your facial nerves are. My tumor was LARGE, but I’m SO glad I went to Dr Ryan. I came out with no drooping, and he’s extremely careful. Qualities that stood out and reasons why I would go back to him in a heartbeat: Awesome bedside manners Calming when explaining your situation, the procedure, and the risks. Saw me prior to my surgery for review Called my family after to let them know how it went Called me the night of my surgery to see how I was doing Came to my hospital room the next morning and removed some additional dressing and cleaned it for me and made sure I stayed positive Was 100% up front about every step and literally told me every answer to all the questions I had listed, before I even had to ask them. Called me as soon as I he received the… biopsy results since he knew I was nervous I cannot say thank him and his team enough and was so nice to be with a doctor who truly cares about his patients.

I saw this "doctor" months ago, and have never heard from them since; they ordered an MRI, which I had completed, and have never heard from them since. Though I have left numerous messages for them to follow up on the MRI that they ordered, and my primary physician has also reached out to them, I've not heard from them post MRI, not a peep, nothing, nada, zip. I find it strange that they would order an MRI to be completed, but have zero interest in sharing the findings with me, the patient. I've never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever had this bad of an experience with a doctor, ever. If you want results, or even a report on the results of an MRI ordered by this group, then you probably don't want to see this doctor. Left hanging, dangling, suspended, uniformed....

I was relieved after talking to the doctor because he was very specific with his explanations of every step of my upcoming surgery. It was good to know that such a capable surgeon was heading the team and he assured me that the team worked well together.

Unless you have amazing insurance coverage, you will come out with a $500 bill for a 20mn visit (and my insurance is pretty good), or how about a $28,000 bill for a 2.5 hour minor surgery. Oh and they don't even follow up with you after your done with surgery (they just give you a single page of paper with general guide lines). Oh and he is never on time (I waited over 45mn my last visit). Seriously, not an honest one.

Dr. Ryan replaced the original physician who removed my cancerous parotid tumor. Dr. Ryan cannot be considered a replacement, but rather his own entity. He is thorough, knowledgeable, personable, and extremely down to earth, an anomoly among surgeons (in my experience). I feel fortunate to have him as my doctor.

Wouldn't hesitate to see him again. Wonderful doctor.

Dr. Ryan is an awesome doctor. He performed surgery on my son after another doctor failed surgically to correct the problem. He is extremely knowledgable and has a terrific bedsidd manner. Would not hesitate to see him again and would refer friends and famkly.
