Dr. William Alfred Shell, MD

Dr.Shell actually listened and spent time getting a thorough history. He discussed my X-ray and treatment options. Knowing that I had decided on the conformis custom knee joint he made sure that I had my CT completed that morning. Everyone was kind and efficient. Very good first impression.

Dr. Shell is the best in his field. He is an excellent surgeon who truly cares about his patients. Very skilled and is a pleasant, kind man. He is thorough and highly knowledgeable and can answer all your questions and concerns. All done with a smile on his face. He has been my Orthopaedic doctor for many years. I highly recommend him.

I choose Dr. Shell because of his experience so I expected more guidance but he looked and acted tired. Im waiting for his scheduler to call me because I decided it’s time.

I’ve had over 30 surgeries ranging from minor issues to major surgery with complications. Dr. Shell has been my doctor for about 8 years. He did a knee replacement on my left knee 4 years ago. I had no complications and have had great results from the surgery. I just had a series of shots on my right knee that may keep me from having to have the right knee replaced. ( I’m sorry, I can’t remember the name of the shots. I got 3 injections, one week apart for 3 weeks) if successful, I can avoid another replacement. I had the last shot 3 weeks ago. My knee quit hurting 5 days ago after years of daily pain! I’ll never go to anyone except Dr Shell unless he retires. I can’t say enough great things about him. He’s not just a great dr., he’s a good person and has a great bedside manner.

Very knowledgeable and open. Easy to talk with, explained his diagnosis in layman’s terms. I was very pleased with his “bedside” manner. I would visit him again.

Dr Shell helpful and concerned as always. All of the staff are great too. Office is ran so effectively, everything gets done very quickly. Would recommend Dr Shell to everyone!

Very pleased with my visit with Dr. Shell yesterday. He was very kind and not hurried. He did not try to pressure me to have a knee replacement but left it up to me to decide when my knee pain was too bad and too debilitating. We decided on an injection and my knee is improved already but I know this is not permanent and surgery is most likely in the future.

I started having extreme pain in my hip, that I had replaced 3 years ago. Dr. Shell saw me, had labs done, and a follow up appointment. He always listens and is very kind. He had done 2 hip surgeries for me and I have been very pleased. I highly recommend him. His nurse, Stacy, is awesome too.
