Dr. William Ward, MD

I had a leg biopsy done by him last year. When i came out of surgery he verbally minimized the amount of pain i was in, attributing it to something else instead of the 3 inch gash in my leg. It was severe nerve pain in my leg. He said that wasnt it. The nerves in that leg are still trying to recover with numbness and pain persisting 10 months later. He was very dismissive and all follow ups were done by others in his practice, he cut nerves and never acknowledged it. He made me wait all day in a presurgical unit doing my surgery in late evening and discharging me at 9:30 at night in pain. Not that i wanted to stay! I will not use him again.

Sent our daughter to him with back and hip pain, he was a class A JERK from the word go !!! First off he has NO personality what so ever, second off he was VERY rude to our daughter who was only looking for help from a doctor, not only did he Mis-diagnose her problem, his end result was she should just learn to live with and work through the pain !!!!! So today our daughter went for her second opinion ( thank god she did ) because this doctor NOT ONLY found the problem after looking at her MRI for about 5 minutes, he also said there is NO WAY IN HECK that Dr Ward did not see the same thing! You not only are an uncaring JERK, you should not be practicing medicine anywhere!!!

I had my hip resurfaced instead of hailing total hip replaced. I was very pleased with the results.

First of all I have been seeing Dr. Ward since I was 3 years old which is over 20 years. He is the best doctor I have ever met and I work in the health care field and have met and worked with many doctors and no one I have met has the dedication he has. A lot of people judge him because you have to wait to see Dr. Ward. However, many people do not realize that his job is his life. He works from early morning and to late night plus also is a professor and trains many new students. Not only that but Dr. Ward has dedicated his time to treating me many times from cancer.

seeing dr. ward for over 10 years and more surgeries than i care to think about. bedside manor is terrible, self centered and uncaring (my way or no way). First time we meet his exact words to a 15 year old, after first round of chemo and throwing up, "we can either amputate or try limb sparing surgery. more likely the cancer will return if we do limb sparing & lets face it if the cancer spreads to your lungs you are dead." Thinks out of the box can be good or bad. WAIT WAIT WAIT. Try waiting in a dr. office with a teenager over and over again for hours and hours, sometimes 4 and 5. But there for you in a crisis(what he lives for). can't believe his PA is still there, among other things left staples in after we went to get them out. took what he left in out ourselves. should have sent them the bill!!!

I loved having Dr. Ward as my surgeon. I was recommended to him through another orthopedic due to a tumor in my arm. At the time, everyone assumed it was an osteosarcoma. I was scheduled for an appointment and I didn't have to wait longer than it took to fill out the paper work. Yes, I had MRIs, CTs, etc. a full day at the hospital but Dr. Ward also did a needle biopsy that day and made sure everything else was scheduled quickly. Most of the time you have to come back for MRI or other tests the next week! However, if he's worried about cancer in a patient, he gets them in. I don't think enough patients realize this. Once the tumor was removed, I was diagnosed with a giant cell tumor (benign). Even without chemo or radiation, it took a long time to recover but if I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. On follow up visits, I had to wait, but I much rather he spend time with a patient he thinks has bone cancer than following up with me for a few… minutes. He did the same thing for me. Thank-you Dr. Ward!!

Yeah you have to wait to see Dr. Ward Ohh cry me a river I have sat for 6 hours waiting to see dr. Ward thats because HE does spend time with all patients he is thorough My wife was given a 15% chance of surviving 1 year and that eas 11 years ago she was suppose to have her leg amputated she still has it Yeah she walks with a cane but she is alive and with me and I thank Dr Ward if anyone knew he spends approx. 16-18 hours a day 5-6 days a week in the hospital and volenteers for disaster reilef as a surgeon worldwide you would understand the waiy but it's worth it and as for the persons comments above Your a very shallow self centered person and not even God could please you my prayers however are with you

The first thing would be we waited over 4 Hours and Adam had an appointment for 12:30 and we were walking out at 4:30.The real kicker is he has this patient hand out that explains why you may have to wait. It states that it's because he takes all this time with his patients(what a CROCK!) All this time is NOT WITH THE PATIENT You spend time in Radiology, and traveling over to lab, then, if you"re lucky you get to hear Dr. Ward and another guy (intern, Sales rep, who knows?) talk about last night's game. After Adam's surgery he was in post op pain but after 3 or 4 weeks, he had the same pain as before and when he seen Dr. Ward, his exact words were "you have something in there that's not supposed to be there, You'll have live with it" Adam found a doctor in High Point that would fix Dr. Ward's mess, it was not easy to find someone to do it, nobody in Winston Salem would do it.Dr. Ross stated that the implant Dr. Ward used was NOT FDA approved and since then has been recalled. He… should not ever have used it, but it was a charity case but charity or not he should be taken care of better than that. He is only 26 Years old now and deserves better quality of life than what Ward offered him.
