Dr. Yu-Tze Ng, MD

We had a terrible experience with Dr. Ng regarding our infant son, who was referred for a follow up after his NICU stay. Dr. Ng was arrogant, rude, and condescending throughout the entire appointment. He started the appointment by introducing himself and saying “you should google me, I am a seasoned expert in my field.” I wish I had googled him because I would have found the many reviews of past patients who had similar experiences to us and canceled the appointment. He interrupted and spoke for/over us any time we tried to express the concerns we had for our son and never listened. He never addressed our chief concern for our son, nor did he do a full examination. I have never encountered a doctor with such atrocious communication skills and bedside manner, and I am a doctor myself. Seek care elsewhere.

Kind, intelligent, and professional, Dr. Ng impressed my child and me. He is always attentive and helpful. He makes sure you understand his diagnosis.

Went to Dr. Yu-tze Ng for my 17 year old son, who was having multiple unexplained symptoms including extreme daily fatige. Dr. Ng was so unprofessional. He was scolding my son multiple times for not looking him straight in the eye and telling me only people who are dishonest and trying to hide something will not look others in the eye. He would try to make him look him straight in the eye (which he couldn't do due to undiagnosed AUTISM) He made him run down the hallway(which he barely managed to do) and then proceeded to tell me that nothing was wrong with him and I could get another opinion and said he was the best neurologist around and I wouldn't find a better one, but IF it made me feel better he could order some labs on him...."just to make me feel better though." He then prescribed an antidepressant medication telling me he was just depressed because of his monotone voice and lack of showing emotion. NO THANKS TO DR NG, another pediatric neurologist DIAGNOSED MY SON WITH… AUTISM(ASPERGER'S) and NARCOLEPSY WITH CATAPLEXY!!!! His autism and narcolepsy were diagnosed by an amazing neurologist Dr Carter Richards, which I highly recommend as he is amazing with kids, and I still cannot believe that Dr. Ng missed these diagnosis....especially the autism one where not looking people in the eye is a HUGE symptom of autism! Side note my 9 year old daughter was with me and there was a severe thunderstorm/some flooding in the area going on. She suffers from extreme anxiety and is possibly autistic as well. She was on the verge of tears and would cling to me during the appointment at times and when she did, the doctor would make an annoyed face at her and then look at me as if he was disgusted with her behavior. This happened everytime thunder struck. I seriously not recommend wasting your time with this doctor who lacks patient bedside manner, thinks a little too highly of himself, talks down to parents, and doesn't look into symptoms of illnesses that can't obviously be seen with the naked eye. This doctor will not be thorough if you are looking for answers as to what is going on with your child.

Reading some of the comments about them I have to wonder if they have ever been to another specialist. We have been to 8 Neurologist in 6 different states in 7 years. Doctor Ng is very through. He asks questions just like every other doctor does. He is great about letting you ask questions and always wants your ideas. I like that he will actually tell you what he is thinking and if changes should be made. I highly recommend him to anyone that wants a true and professional neurologist.

Dr. Ng has been a terrible doctor with very unprofessional behavior. He is rude, inconsiderate, unreliable and most importantly does not care about his patients. He did not guide us as parents with our child’s seizure condition and how to properly manage his seizures, and left decisions up to us as to what medications should be altered or added. He has been heard by my husband and I getting angry with staff members that assist him.He rarely followed up with us regarding blood tests to check therapeutic levels and toxic levels and our son was brought to ER in result of toxicity. Do not bring your child to him as we regretfully did. Very dissatisfied and saddened by his lack of knowledge, lack of caring and unprofessionalism.

We took our son to Dr. Ng for treatment and from the first meeting, he wanted to remove half of our sons brain. After running tests, he realized this was not an option and started to "explore" different medications for seizures. After putting him on a few medications, Dr. Ng never followed up with blood work and ignored our requests and concerns about our sons behavior in and out of school. He stated "it was not a result of the medication." Yet, in researching the medications, they all outlined specific side effects that our son was experiencing. After a while, our son became extremely tired all the time and started to lose some of his basic skills. He was unable to function in school and eventually slept all the time. He was having more seizures and loosing a lot of weight. We made several calls weekly to Dr. Ng's office and never heard back. When we went to the appointment, Dr. Ng "adjusted" the medicine and never addressed our sons condition. We took our son to his… pediatrician who ran several tests and confirmed the medication Dr. Ng prescribed had our son way above toxic levels and ended up being rushed to the hospital. He was in the hospital for a week with no follow up from Dr. Ng and in a conversation with Dr. Ng, he only wanted to "adjust" the medication again. A different neurologists assisted us in the hospital and disagreed with Dr. Ng's recommendation. This Doctor is his partner. Since being released from the hospital on a new medication, he has seen each doctor once and Dr. Ng has continued to ignore our questions. We are in the process of searching for a new neurologist all together but do NOT recommend Dr. Ng. He ignores concerns, questions, and refuses to treat patients with actual concern. Our son has suffered much more set backs because of the medication prescribed by Dr. Ng and we are continuing to "re-develop" him in several areas. Dr. Ng should be reviewed by the Medical Board for his practices and lack of follow up and treatment. Not one time in over two years did he run blood tests with the changes in medication and as a result, our son suffered and we were ignored. His office is un-reachable and all he wants to do is "adjust" the medication that put our son in the hospital.

Dr. Ng was the first to correctly diagnose my son's cavernous malformation. He is very personable and has a great sense of humor. He often boasts about his accomplishments, but this is all for show. He is truly genuinely humbled by actual compliments. He sits down and talks to you to explain things.
