Dr. Zachary Roy Freedman, MD

I have been a patient of this Dr Freedman, he does not listen to your concerns regarding your health, he will rush you out if his office though , I am not confident in his skills as a Endcrinologist either because of mishandling of my treatments for thyroids ,I just don't understand, why go into a profession where the job requires caring for the health others and then do just the opposite. If anyone reads a favorable review on Dr Zachary R Freedman Be wary it's probably him writting his own review

I agree with almost all of the reviews regarding Dr. F., and that includes the good and the bad. He is a straight shooter and once you get past that...a genuine caring and nurturing person emerges. My issue is not with Dr. F., although I do wish he would call back instead of his RN staff, which I could care less for. Recently, as I suffered through several side effects related to my medication, some so uncomfortable and horrible, I literally stopped taking the medication. Calling the office to discuss my issues, I was hoping to speak to Dr. F., directly however, I spoke with Carol and Donna, both of whom I believe need to leave this practice or step up their efforts. One example, I called to let them know that the 2nd medication they switched me too was causing serious side effects and that I was not taking the medication anymore. Speaking with the receptionist who took all my information and said she was going to put this in the system as "Urgent" so that my call would be… returned promptly. Well, I'm not sure what prompt means in their book, but going over 24 hours without a call back is not what I consider prompt to my "Urgent" matter. This is the 3rd time this has happened, they call back, but sometimes 48 to 72 hours later. Now to add insult to my "Urgent" matter, the nurses, (I'm speaking of Donna and Carol directly), who are suppose to answer my questions, and help me to decide next steps, barely spent 1 minute on the phone with me. I clocked one call at 25 sec. When I went in for a follow up to my first medication issue, I met with Carol, who, and I am being kind, seemed like a nitwit! I left there with absolutely no confidence and more confused than ever. The medication she suggested I take, caused my second "Urgent" matter, to which I have called again, to let them know I'm not taking it anymore. Still have not heard back. Hour 32. If I choose to stay or leave this practice it is not because of anything with Dr. F., it is with his staff. I strongly encourage Dr. F., to consider maybe hiring people who have looked up the word "Urgent", in the dictionary and can comprehend what that is. Or hire additional nurses to offset these crappy ones and maybe assist with prompt call backs. Diabetes is a life threatening condition, most of us take it very seriously, I would have appreciated the RN staff to treat it and me as such. Dr. F love you...hate them..

i was in my fifties and not prepared to do anything to control my diabetes. dr. freedman persisted and i finally, over time, came to respect him for the sincere, generous, caring man that he is. those who regard him as gruff or curt probably have given him good reason to be so!

To the fat people out there (like me), Dr Freedman knows what he is doing, and he wants you to lose weight. Pert near everything he treats for can be alleviated by having a weight appropriate to your height. Yes, I know many people like BBWs, but believe me, fat hates you, and fat causes disease. So having a doctor want you to do something that is hard and takes a lot of time and effort may make you dislike him, but it is no excuse to downrate him. He is there to fish you out of the pit you ate yourself into. Anyway, if you want to do feel-good 'alternative medicine', do it on your own time, Dr Freedman is there to fix you up using allopathic methods, and his time is valuable. I had no problems following the doctor, maybe because I came in informed, listened and asked questions. I actually thought he was likable. The office process could be better, though. On my first appointment I was sent to the wrong office, then told that I was a day early. Next day I was told I was a… day late. Nice people, just not very good at process. And the magazines are pretty bad. That's all.

This doctor has a horrible bed side manner! When he didn't agreee with my ideas on how to treat my illness, he threw a piece of paper at me and said to go ahead and do it my way. I have heard other complaints about him as well. He needs to retire!

The office staff is nice, and dr freedman is somewhat courteous for the minute or two he actually spends with me. We were trying to get my tsh level right and I was frustrated because they were being VERY conservative with my meds, and he had the nurse call me and tell me "if you don't like it you can find a new dr.". I'd like to see him walk around with a tsh level over 30 and see how happy he is. I would have left but I only have a few months until my primary can regulate my tsh. I would look for someone else!!

I have been referred to Dr. Freedman during my pregnancy. And he did great! Now I have no problem go back if I get pregnant again. I do see him for other reason.

Dr. Freedman is not a babysitter. He is a very professional and well informed physician who understands full well how personal behavior plays into your health problems. He is a straight shooter, and if you are ready to face reality and take personal responsibility, he can help you improve your health, often drastically. If you don't want to be a grown up, you probably won't like him. If you're serious about being well, he can help you. I think he's a great doctor. I have seen him in two different areas of his practice -- I was a participant in the weight loss clinic and he is my husband's endocrinologist. 5 stars from me all the way.
