Ziad Tarik Awad, MD, FACS

Dr. Ziad Awad is a surgeon who specializes in complex surgical procedures. He earned his medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine and completed his residency training at both Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. Dr. Awad pursued advanced fellowship training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia and Creighton University School of Medicine to further develop his surgical expertise. He holds board certification in surgery from the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Awad speaks English fluently.

Dr. Awad practices at UF Health Jacksonville, with locations in both central Jacksonville and north Jacksonville. His surgical expertise includes treating patients with esophageal cancer and pancreatic cancer. He also helps patients who experience difficulty swallowing, known as dysphagia.
