Dr. Mirage Shah, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Mirage Shah specializes in comprehensive eye examinations with an emphasis on all ocular diseases, non-surgical glaucoma management, emergency care, contact lenses, and post-surgical co-management. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and earned a scholarship to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts where he received his Doctor of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Shah pursued additional residency training in advanced ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.During his graduate studies in Boston, Dr. Shah served as a research assistant at Schepens Eye Research Institute and Harvard Medical School and authored numerous journal articles and poster presentations for the American Academy of Optometry. He has taken on numerous leadership roles, including President of the American Academy of Optometry’s New England College of …Optometry chapter, founding Diplomate of the American College of Medical Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.Prior to joining Katzen Eye Group, Dr. Shah gained additional experience in primary care optometry, including a broad range of contact lens fits and evaluation of cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and ocular surface disease such as dry eye. Outside of the office, Dr. Shah enjoys rooting for the Ravens and Orioles, following the Argentinian National Soccer team and playing for an indoor league. Dr. Shah also loves travelling and exploring new destinations and cultures, having visited more than 35 countries.
