AdventHealth’s Promises of Compassion Are Just Advertising — Not Reality AdventHealth promotes itself as a place of “whole-person, compassionate care,” but in our experience, that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was granted permission to support and speak on behalf of a critically ill cancer patient under the care of Dr. Alemany. What we encountered was not compassion, but indifference. Dr. Alemany delivered deeply discouraging remarks to the patient — including telling her she wouldn’t live long enough to raise a child — something no professional should say to someone fighting for their life. When he went on vacation, no other physician was assigned to manage her care, leaving her completely without oversight during a critical time. We submitted detailed communications to both Dr. Alemany and AdventHealth outlining these serious concerns. Not a single response has been received to this day. This is more than a matter of one doctor — it's about a clinic and a system that… refuses to acknowledge patient concerns, disregards advocates acting with patient consent, and follows a narrow, outdated treatment model with no attention to preventing recurrence or improving quality of life. If you’re looking for a place that actually listens, supports, and walks with patients through the hardest time of their lives — this is not it.
