For over ten years, I've been a dedicated patient at this Mentor office, believing I was in the care of understanding and compassionate professionals. It's with immense disappointment and a heavy heart that I must now warn others to stay away. Recent changes, both in staff and especially in their billing practices, have completely shattered any trust I once had. My most recent, and frankly, appalling experience highlights a shocking lack of compassion. After suffering a heart attack and being out of work for over a month, I desperately needed to see my therapist. Despite offering to pay $30 towards a $120 outstanding balance – which was all I could manage given my recent medical crisis and loss of income – I was outright denied an appointment. To be told 'no' when I needed support the most, over such a paltry sum while recovering from a major health event, speaks volumes about where their priorities now lie. I genuinely believed they were caring and understanding individuals, but this… incident proved that assumption utterly wrong when I needed them the most. Beyond the unacceptable billing policies, I've also noticed a significant decline in the quality of therapeutic support provided. Over the past six months, my therapist, who used to be a source of invaluable advice and guidance, has become increasingly less helpful. Appointments have become harder to secure, and disturbingly, our sessions often devolve into discussions about her family and 'perfect life' rather than focusing on my needs and struggles. In a strange twist, the denial for my recent appointment almost feels like a 'favor,' as the quality of care had already diminished significantly. If you are seeking genuine empathy, consistent support, and professional, patient-centered care, you will not find it here at this establishment any longer. My advice is simple: stay away. My decade of loyalty ultimately meant nothing when I was at my most vulnerable.
