Dr. Bradley Thomas Horak, MD

Terrible!! First visit with my son waited over an hour and a half to be seen. He spent 10 minutes with us, saying my son needed to continue to wear a brace and follow up in 2 weeks. Follow up was worse. Again waited over an hour. When he finally was seeing us, his assistant stepped in the room and Dr. Horack said, "can you cast the man across the hall ASAP, he has to get back to work". I then said I had to get back to work as well and that I had been waiting over an hour. He said, "Oh, I didn't know you were in a hurry". Being a doctor myself and having worked with doctor's my whole career, that is one of the lamest and most insulting excuses I have ever heard. Putting aside the implication that since I was a mother with her son I didn't have a job to get back to or anything better to do, that is a terrible arrogant way to treat people: no-one wants to sit waiting for over an hour and a half.

He listen and takes time to explain everything.

Brought in an mri report. Pertinent information was that there was a collateral ligament tear present in right hand. I presented diminished strength in dominant hand when compared to other hand as well as reduced range of motion. Doctor said type of tear and severity was not specified and therefore he could not help me. Yep. That was it. Didn't say, "Let's find out more about your tear so i can try to treat you". I probably spent less than ten minutes being seen by the doctor, probably closer to five (while i waited an hour past my appointment time). There's more but i won't waste any more time. Bottom line: seemed like a nice enough guy but "to treat the ill to the best of one's ability" was not honored in my case . Sadly, this seems to be a growing trend in NYC. WASTED my TIME and MONEY seeing this doctor. Proceed at your own risk.

I think he is an excellent doctor and he is very friendly and professional. Obviously the one who said he had a bad bed side manner is a trouble maker. You cant say anything bad about him. He also knows how to give a shot without pain.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Horak and his office/billing. So much that I am changing doctors from any Mount Sinai doctors as there system is the worst most offensive billing system with zero accountability. I had an appointment seven months ago which was covered by my insurance but because of one of their billing person's mistake I was double billed. After months of endless hours long waits on hold where no one answered or answered only to hang up immediately I am left with a bill collector hounding me for an account that was falsely created. I have left endless messages for help and no one responds. It is a mess of a system that Dr. Horak works with and my experience with him was not worth it at all, he's an average doctor.

This is one of the worst experiences I have had with a doctor. His delivery is flippant, bordering on disrespectful, and he never clearly explained what his diagnosis was and what treatment he was prescribing. His interaction was extremely awkward - he had a smirk on his face the entire time and didn't seem to take me, or the severity of my problems, seriously. I still have no idea what to do about my issues...which he originally said were severe but later claimed, 'it could get worse or it could stay the same...' No kidding, doc.

Had glass in elbow needed surgery to get it out. Had to wait one month before there was time on the schedule. I moved and updated my address on file 3 times but received a call that my bill had been sent to collections. Why? Because even AFTER 3 times of updating my new address they continued billing me at old address. Very hard to get someone to answer phone. Staff is subpar.

I had wrist surgery after falling down a flight of stairs and breaking my wrist. Dr. Horak was excellent from start to finish - he kept me informed of my options, while continuing to provide his best advice. At the outpatient surgery facility he was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and extremely competent. All follow-up visits were excellent. I recommend him very highly.

I had surgery and he is the best doctor and his staff are very nice

Much better experience than I had ever anticipated. I was terrified, but Dr. Horak eased my fears and was then available after my surgery anytime, for any questions. His calmness eased my worry - and of course everything turned out ok. thank you!
