Dr. Amanda Rauda Tellawi, MD

It has been one year after I lost one of my twin sons, I have to say something here for both my son and me, b/c some so-called doctors they don't deserve the title. I was 39-year-old and pregnant with identical modi twin, which undoubtedly put me as high-risk pregnancy. At about week 18, I started to have non-stop headache, I had been contacting the Dr. for help. I finally got an online visit after 6-7 days I had the headache. The Dr. was highly indicating me just being whining the whole time, and told me it was normal to be not 100% comfortable during pregnancy. With the fact I already told her I at least drank 3L waters daily, her main recommendation was still more hydration, which hugely misled me when I had a quick huge weight gain after the online visit. Though I was aware of quick huge weight gain during pregnancy is super dangerous, I thought I was just over hydrated (I was drinking 4-6L water daily). I cannot believe the Dr. didn't bother to let me walk in office and do an… ultrasound check considering all my complaints. 4 days later was my planned MFM appt, where I was diagnosed as TTTS type 2, one of my twins had 0 fluid, and another one had 11L fluid. I was transferred to JH fetal therapy immediately, and started my 4-month-long fighting. One of my twins didn't make it. Many days and nights when I look at my adorable surviving twin, I am wondering whether the output would be different if the Dr. had offered an ultrasound a few days earlier so we could start the invention/treatment earlier.

I've only had a brief encounter with Dr. Tellaui thus far, but expect to see her much more in the future. She seems very compassionate and actually listens and responds in a very caring manner. I, unfortunately, cannot say that for many other doctors. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Tellawi is the most compassionate doctors I’ve ever had. She has a speciality in maternal mental health, but will listen to any concern you have. HIGHLY recommend !
