Dr. David Deok Yu, MD

My mother was referred my a specialist for suspected glaucoma. The first appointment Dr. Yu just told us to come back for a diagnostic test. This was frustrating as we already knew coming into the appointment that she needed to be tested for glaucoma. At the second appointment, they spent an hour doing a test which turned out to be for a test that has already been performed by the referring doctor and then told us to come back again for the glaucoma test. When I asked Dr. Yu why we were having to come back a third time to confirm a diagnosis that our previous specialist had already suggested, he had nothing to say but that it was "a miscommunication". Dr. Yu could care less about his patient and was just interested in racking up charges by having us come back for a third appointment. He tried to blame it on his technician as well when it eventually came out that he was just negligent about ordering the right test. Will never come back here!

Very professional. Waiting room not crowded. I was seen at my appointment time. Staff courteous and professional. Dr. Yu performed comprehensive procedures and I am grateful because I have aging eyes. He explained each result and answered all of my questions. The optical department does not close for lunch and again, I did not have to wait. They also were friendly and offered good suggestions. I am very impressed with Pasadena Eye Medical Group. I've been seeing Dr. Yu for approximately 13 years and I have always gotten excellent care. He is very empathetic, thorough, kind and although I see him only once a year, appears to remember me and my eye issues. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a new eye doctor.
