Dr. Gregory James Ewertz

It’s been over two weeks and I’m still beside myself on how this seasoned doctor handled a conversation with my wife who was IN LABOR and myself. Our OB ordered a procedure be done that he was supposed to do given he was the onsite laborist. He came in and basically told us we were acting recklessly and endangering our baby in hopes of having our baby on a certain day WHICH WAS COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED AND UNTRUE. When I finally got him out of our room and got our doctor on the phone my wife was sobbing and an emotional wreck... not the mood you want while in labor. Our doctor assured us that we were doing the right thing and that she wanted us to proceed. Ewertz then came back in to do the procedure and basically said “well, don’t say I didn’t warn you..” It was the most unprofessional and outrageously unnecessary series of events that wouldn’t even have been acceptable if he was checking blood pressure, let alone talking to young parents on the verge of something so special and… important. And for the record, the baby was never in harm and was born very happy and healthy completely in line with our OB’s description.

Awfully rude, unprofessional, insensitive! I had an appointment with another doctor from their practice but my doctor was unavailable so they sent me to him instead. That day was my due date and the first thing he did when he walked into the room was literally yell at me for even coming to the doctor's office! It was my weekly pregnancy appointment that was scheduled by my doctor - I didn't just show up there for no reason. So basically he yelled at me for showing up and told me to come back next week. He should not be an OB/GYN. Nurses in the hospital told me that he is very nice with the staff but very nasty with his patients. Go figure...

Dr. Ewertz helped me through my high-risk pregnancy with twins. He was always cheerful, courteous, and a great resource for information. Dr. Ewertz, the other doctors, and the office staff were a GIANT step up from the other OB-GYN I had been seeing at Cedars who I was with during my first pregnancy. Either Dr. Ewertz or another doctor always took my calls--even when I was out of town and had an emergency. My follow-up visits were quick and helpful--just what a new mom needs.

Dr. Ewertz was the worst doctor I have ever seen. He came into the appointment (the first time we had ever met) he did not introduce himself or say anything. He made me feel horrible about my blood pressure, which was a little high from rushing to my appointment but dropped back to normal during the appointment. He didn't discuss any concerns with me, just said "it's high" and left it at that. What doctor doesn't discuss something that's a concern with the patient. He did my ultrasound and literally spend 20 seconds saying "there's the heartbeat, that looks fine, everything looks fine" and ended the ultrasound. He didn't allow me to see the screen and view the baby. He then gave me a paper towel and left without saying a word to me! He didn't ask me if I had been having any concerns or problems with my pregnancy since my last appointment or even tell me when to schedule my next appointment, which are standard things a doctor discusses with a pregnant patient at EVERY appointment. He… left the nurse that was working with me scrambling and confused as to how to direct me. He spent no more than 3 minutes in the room with me. I would say he was VERY rude, and I am not the type of person that needs a sensitive doctor. The way he acted was just ridiculous. No doctor should be that horrible with bedside manner.

do yourself a favor and don't use this doctor. My wife had a C-section with Dr. Ewertz. He was rude, bad bedside manners and acted inappropriately.

I've always thought of Dr. Ewertz like House. He may not be overly kind or patient and yes it does seem like he's always in a hurry and looks like he hasn't slept in days but I think he's a tremendous Dr. and I trusted him completely. Towards the end of my pregnancy my husband and I would joke that we could do the appt ourselves...heartbeat's fine, any questions? great see you in two weeks. But I like that he didn't sugar coat things and told it like it was, I want my Dr. to be that way. Why not, I'm a big girl. Anyways, I'm expecting my 2nd child and there is no other doctor I would trust over Dr. Ewertz. I think he's the best.

I have seen Dr Ewertz for some time for check ups, and for that, it was fine. He spent very little time with me, but then it wasn-t an issue. Then I was trying to get pregnant for a while, and wanted a consultation to that regard. I waited 45 minutes, to see him look at his watch 3 minutes into the consultation. He treated my questions as idiotic, told me I was past "my fertility curve" (I'm 34), and I should have had children in my 20's. He did recommend my husband have a sperm analysis. We received results at home, which were abnormal, but we didn't really understand them. Ewertz NEVER called back to interpret the results. Not once. A nurse finally spoke to me telling me a wrong diagnosis and told me to go see a urologist. Unacceptable behavior, terrible bedside manner, no psychology whatsoever, makes you feel like he wants to get you out of there as soon as he possibly can. I'm changing doctor.

UGH! I have never had such awful experiences with a doctor. He is rude and cocky and not sensitive at all. Seriously, stay away from him.

Greg has been my doctor for over 10 years. He has seen me through several crises, including an unexpected c-section. He was a math major as an undergrad and started his career in service in the USAF. You will not find a smarter OB/Gyn. He can quickly analyze data and draws his conclusions based on research. He may not be the doctor for you if you require lots of time, attention and hand-holding, but, then I have friends and family for that. (Though I've always found a willing and caring ear in his nurse, Diana). I want a doctor who will provide an expert opinion and excellent outcomes. There is no one better.
