Dr. Harry Steven Glauber, MD

I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa where I attended medical school. After internships in Tel Aviv, Israel and Seattle, WA, I completed internal medicine training in Spokane, WA. My wife and I then moved to San Diego where I spent four years doing research and training in Endocrinology at the VA Medical Center.

I feel very fortunate in having found Kaiser Permanente Northwest to spend my career. We love living in the Northwest and practicing medicine here has been very rewarding.


About my practice

I currently spend half of my work week at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center helping lead the diabetes/glucose management programs in the hospital. In the out-patient clinic, I enjoy seeing patients with a wide variety of endocrine conditions, especially thyroid diseases, osteoporosis and pituitary disorders.

My personal philosophy of medical practice is to "Do everything that is necessary and nothing that is unnecessary" for each patient that I see, both for testing and for treatment. …Endocrinology relies a great deal on lab testing, and I enjoy the detective work of proving a diagnosis. I find it rewarding when patients with diabetes mellitus are able to improve their health as a result of my advice and encouragement.How I thrive

My wife and I love to walk, exploring the neighborhoods of Portland. Weather permitting, we like to hike in the Columbia Gorge, especially when the wild flowers return in the springtime. In the winter time, snow shoeing is about as adventuresome as I get. We enjoy going out to performances of the Oregon Symphony and Portland Center Stage.
