I have been a patient of Dr. Cheung's for several years. He has consistently provided excellent eye care. He is a skilled and knowledgeable practitioner, his staff is courteous and professional, and his office is run efficiently. He has always been able to diagnose and effectively treat my eye issues.
Choose another office. I work with doctors offices daily in my professional life. This office has exceptionally bad service. I came as a new patient and traveled 45 mins in morning traffic. After sitting in traffic behind an accident I called the office to say I'd be 10 mins late. When I arrived 8 mins late they told me they cancelled my appointment and would not see me. The front desk was rude, short, and really didn't care I had taken time off work and driven 45 mins. If this is how they treat new patients, I think I am lucky I didn't get any deeper into care. After reading other bad reviews about service and price, I cannot recommend this office and certainly won't return. There are better choices available.
We respect and value the time of each and every one of our patients, whether they are a busy attorney or a stay-at-home mom. Patients travel from all over Western Washington to see us and we understand that traffic can be unpredictable. We simply DO NOT turn away patients when they are a few minutes late. When a patient is fifteen or more minutes late, our staff will do an assessment of the real-time schedule and do our best to fit them in, as long as it does not compromise the experiences of other patients who are on schedule and on time. This policy allows us to consistently keep our wait time to less than ten minutes. We sincerely apologize that we were not able to accommodate this individual on that very busy day. Our overall goal is to provide all our patients with the proper attention and time that they deserve. That is our promise to you as a patient and no amount of yelling or threats of bad reviews will stray us from that promise.
I had strabismus surgery twice about ten years ago. Over the past couple of years, my double vision returned to pre-surgery levels. Both Madigan Army Hospital's Dr. Raymond & the ophthalmologist at Bremerton Naval Hospital tried unsuccessfully to fix my problem with prism; when that failed, they balked at surgery saying that scarring from my previous operations would make it too difficult. Dr. Cheung acknowledged the scarring issue & unsuccessfully tried prism. Unlike the military ophthalmologists, however, Dr. Cheung agreed to perform the surgery. Amazing to me was the follow-up phone call I received from Dr. Cheung early in the evening following my surgery. He wanted to know how I felt, if I had a headache or felt pain. I can honestly say that in 58 years I've never had a doctor call me at home after an out-patient procedure or surgery. Now I'm down to a 2.0 vertical difference with no left-right offset; prior to the operation I was at 8.0 with offset. Basically, this means I have mono-vision due to my mind/eye's ability to naturally bring objects together. I am so relieved that I could finally get this done. Dr. Cheung explained to me that he spent some time clearing out all the scarring. Dr. Cheung has been professional, courteous, straight (no sugar-coating things or beating around the bush, etc.), & sensitive to my needs. I give my strongest recommendation possible to anyone considering strabismus surgery with Dr. Cheung!
