Dr. Jonathan Paul Van Kleunen, MD

This was an after surgery visit. We discussed the surgery and aftercare. Told us surgery went well. He is a wonderful MD who explains everything very well. Best is he is a great listener. Would recommend him to everyone. Thank You

I’ve seen Dr. Van Kleunen several times now, my last visit being an office follow-up to a labrum endoscopy. He performed necessary motion testing, explained my condition, and discussed future options well with me when I was first evaluated in the autumn. At every visit, my questions were answered well within his scope. Noticing nonverbal anxieties of mine was a bit surprising to me but nice to have acknowledged. The staff working with him at the Fairway Drive location and the Pleasant Valley Blvd surgical suite are friendly and patient and kind. One nurse caring for me before my surgery was an absolute lovely person - I wish I could remember her name. The wait times for office visits varies: sometimes quick and sometimes not, more often, it leans to not so quick. I mostly attribute that wait to actually being a good physician/surgeon and taking time with patients (and documenting and doing other things like be alive too.) I am still a few months away from normal for me; my results… in that regard are no longer in his or UOC’s hands. Dr. Van Kleunen seemed happiest in the OR and had good, literal bedside manner before surgery, and I wish him well. I hope others have good outcomes with his help. Fingers crossed my recovery at home goes without any hiccups.

The doctor explains the options for your condition then asked which one you would like to do. He then will answer any questions in-depth. A very sincere and caring person.

I started seeing Dr Van Kleunen after treatment of my right ankle after a bad car accident. Had a lot of damage to it and they tried to save my leg. It finally got to the point where I was going to have and amputation, I then started seeing him and had an above the knee amputation done. Everything was going great from 2013 until around 2020 and I had fallen before that after taking a shower and hit my stump. He removed fluid several times and was able to use my leg for some time. He tried with surgery to try to stop what was causing the fluid and that worked for a short time. Then it kept getting worse as time went on and it was finally another amputation above the first one. After it was done and before my appointment with him I got another blood work done and my white count was elevated after going down for some time and at my appointment I brought that up with him that it was going up. I wanted to talk with him about it and wasn't able to before our time was up. He is a great Dr… and was able to help me out with all the problems that I was having. He even kept me in the hospital after the operation to give me antibiotics IV before sending me home instead of sending me home with pills. Need to talk to a Dr with knowledge to know exactly how the body works with places that cause the white count to go up. How much it affects, when, how long because I had a spot on my tooth that was fixed and did take antibiotic for that and was over a month before the blood work. I believe I upset him for showing him the results of the white count and wish I would have waited to get the work done. Nothing was meant to be from the surgery. I am a RN but do not have the knowledge about white count of how it works in the body. Great Dr and appreciate everything that he did for me. He even did a knee replacement on my left leg for me after my amputation, and it has been perfect with no problems, did a great job. Now have an appointment with my Dentist and my PCP to see what I can find out that way. He is a great Dr and I appreciate him for what he has done for me since the problems with my legs. started. I would refer him to anyone who needs his care.

Dr. Van Kluenen is very attentive. He remembered my health issues from a year ago. Listens to you and does not rush out. He designed a plan for the future so I know exactly what to expect. The office is extra efficient. From the minute you walk in you feel politeness and see smiles from staff. I have put my trust in him and his staff. I highly recommend him.

Dr.Van Kleunan is very knowledgeable. Got me in his care very quickly. All his staff were very nice and helpful. Have a lot of inflammation and the shot he gave me helped. Thank you Dr.VanKleunan!

Seems to be the only doctor that would help me after three doctors had pushed me off to one another saying there was nothing wrong with my shoulder have had two previous surgeries with Dr Van clunen for rotator cuff probably going into the third took a lot of time to explain what was going on and just being there thank you

Had rotator cuff surgery a couple years ago. Dr VanKleunen is very caring and compassionate. He took the time to explain all he would do. He doesn’t rush you in and out as some others do. My surgery went very well and I haven’t had any problems with my arm. He’s such a nice guy and so professional. I would recommend him to anyone. If I ever have to have surgery again he’s the Dr I want. Thank you Dr Van Kluenun
