Dr. Lisa Walker Dillard, MD

This was a very bizarre situation. Dr. Dillard and I are both of the same undergraduate school, in which I personally seeked her out for that rare purpose alone. However, Dr. Dillard did not know this. My first visit was met with her staff utterly unprepared to accept my insurance. As a result, I left after waiting and literally taken into the exam room for nearly an hour later. Her staff member said my insurance as not yet active and they could not get verification approval. We later found that out to be incorrect. It was simply the staff’s incompetency to ask the provider the correct questions to get my visit covered. As a result, I accepted the mistake and oversight and rescheduled my appointment a whole month and a half later to give Dr. Dillard another try. Well, I came back and the staff was very friendly this time, but as I passed by her office to be escorted to the exam room, Dr. Dillard mannerisms was stoic at best. As I gave her our college ‘mantra’ greeting… she seemed perplexed. When she did come into the exam room to see me, she began a barrage of unpleasant condescending berating rhetoric on how serious I should take my health. After going “all in on me” while I held my complete silence, she finally took a breather to realize that her approach was a little too harsh. Mind you, I am a man some 10 years her senior and Dr. Dillard apparently must have felt it was a professional common practice to talk to me or any other man this way because of her position. Well, after I reminded her again by saying, “is this the way your ‘Home by the Sea’ taught you bedside manners?” She then paused with a dead look and ask me what did I say. I said you know that you and I went to the same undergrad, right? And she said, really! She than began to immediately change her tune on how she would have a cordial doctor/patient relationship. Prior to this, during her berating, she even commented that “I may not be the right doctor for you”. But to her credit, she did profusely go on to apologize. She asks me did she offend me and I said, yes you did. And I am appalled that someone from my prestigious institution would carry on that way. She even went as far as saying, “you’re gonna write me a bad review, aren’t you?” Well? Unfortunately, I will choose not to return to the medical practice of Dr. Dillard ever again. Why? Because I believe that this was an isolated incident. But I hope it will be a well-learned isolated incident. Our school taught us kindness, respectfulness and compassion for your fellow Pirate. I wish her well and I hope that she’ll represent our illustrious alma mata with a little more class and dignity than what she has shown me. God bless her and hope she sleeps well at night.

Poor. Did not get to see her. Waited 90 minutes past my appointment time but had to go back to work. I wish they had called me to tell me she was late so I could chose to reschedule. Not a good first impression. I will look for another doctor with a better managed office.

the lady calling in prescriptions is rude ,unprofessional ,and seems to be on a power trip .my last two visits took 3 hours ,and 2 hours . I have been a patient for over 10 years ,in Marietta I I was seen with no more than a 30 minute wait .Here ,in the collier rd. office I have never been seen on time and no

She was extremely personable, very thorough, took time to review my medical history, and answered all my questions. I went without a primary care physician for over a year because I didn't think I could find a doc as thorough as my previous doctor. I'm so happy I found Dr.Dillard .

Quick to get an attitude! Rude!

Great doctor....she takes great care and time with a person I support from the group home. He is a handful, but Dr. Dillard still gives him quality time to talk and socialize with him....

I visited Dr. Dillard for a annual physical hoping to find a new primary care doctor with experience in diabetes since it runs in my family. The first thing she tells me is that this visit will have to be a consultation and that I'd have to return for the physical! When I expressed concern that this wasn't explained to me upfront she begrudgingly did the exam, but with such an attitude. I always come prepared with my brief questions so I don't take up a lot of time. She didn't listen to me and didn't ask follow-questions to my concerns. When I asked her tips on how to curb appetite since I was always feeling hungry on this particular diet, she yelled, "Just eat!" She was just cold and arrogant. I believe you are in the wrong profession if you just want to collect check.

She is very confidant, assured and thorough. She communicates well, follows u, and obviously cares.
