Dr. Mark S. Thomma, MD

I 've been seeing Dr. Mark Thomma for many years. He is an excellent doctor. Dr. Thomma listens carefully, he is thoughtful, compassionate and very knowledgeable. Always answers your questions and has good insights into complex problems. I highly recommend Dr. Thomma!

Mark has been my psychiatric provider for plus or minus 19 years. He has been the very best for me, esp. during a recent depression. I have seen him over the years mostly for med management, at fairly infrequent intervals. He was supportive of my going back to school for a PhD at age 60, which I accomplished and after a post doc went on to teach nurses in public health until I retired at age 75. He has always been supportive in my efforts to go out on a limb when he thought it was safe to do so. He was helpful when he learned I had suffered with an abusive lesbian partner for ten years prior to my knowing him, and we examined some of the ways I could avoid such a relationships again. He was helpful to my daughter-in-law and me when my son was drinking and Yukiko and I had some co-counseling sessions. Occasionally, he goes off on a tangent of his own, but I can easily forgive that as the rest of the time he is so helpful to me. He was once a social worker before MD. He has the skills

I've been a patient of Dr Thomma's for over 15 years. Over that time I've recommended him to several others. Dr Thomma is certainly one of the best doctors/psychiatrists/psychologists I've ever known.

Dr.Thomma is always punctual. He treats you with respect and empathy. There is always continuity in your care. If there is a need to contact him after hours he is always respectful, and doesn't act like you are an imposition when returning your call. You are treated like you matter to him.
