Dr. Payam Moazzaz

Dr.Moazzaz gave me back my life. He is truly one of the best surgeons you could asked for. I could barely get out of bed before my spinal fusion. I was in excruciating pain despite a bunch of pain meds I had been taking. Three weeks after surgery I am feeling amazing. I literally have no pain whatsoever, I am walking two miles a day and soooo excited to return to all of my previous activities. I cannot thank Dr.Moazzaz and his team enough for allowing me to enjoy my life to the fullest once again.

I began experiencing significant back pain in 2019. Over the years, I tried everything that was recommended from physical therapy, acupuncture, and more than 30 injections in various areas of my spine through pain management. Despite multiple MRIs and numerous medical consultations, the root cause of my pain was repeatedly misdiagnosed or overlooked. Surgery was either discouraged or presented only as a spinal fusion, which did not feel like the right option for me. My symptoms were severe and progressively worsening. I had constant spine pain, nerve pain radiating down my left leg, and widespread muscular issues throughout my lower body. The discomfort affected nearly every aspect of my daily life and physical activity. After doing extensive research, I decided to seek another opinion and found Dr. Moazzaz. After reviewing my MRI, Dr. Moazzaz showed me a specific image that clearly and unequivocally identified the primary source of my problem. For the first time, the explanation made… complete sense, and I felt confident we were addressing the true root cause rather than just managing symptoms. He recommended an Artificial Disc Replacement, and I had surgery the following month. Within just a few days after the procedure, once the normal incision soreness began to subside, I realized the pain that had affected my life for years was gone. I am now approximately 8 weeks post-surgery, and I genuinely feel like I have my life back. I feel at least 10 years younger. I am extremely grateful that I found Dr. Moazzaz. His ability to correctly diagnose the root cause, clearly explain the issue, and confidently perform the procedure made all the difference. I highly recommend him to anyone, especially those who feel like they have exhausted other options without answers.

Dr. Moazzaz is brilliant, kind, caring and talented surgeon. On April 9, 2025 he performed an ACDF surgery and was able to stabilize the C3-C6 levels of my spine. Since then, my neck pain has decreased significantly. Dr.Moazzaz and his team are continuing to work diligently to assure my best outcome. Dr. Moazzaz was attentive and listened carefully to my concerns and questions. I’m a cancer survivor, history of two back surgeries years ago, and some other health issues. I’m very thankful for Dr. Moazzaz and definitely recommend him and his team. After years of chronic pain I never thought I would be able to be a painless day. I had a Spinal fusion at L4-5 and S1 and now the only pain I feel is soreness from physical therapy as I’m 6months post surgery.

I did a lot of research to find an excellent orthopedic surgeon who was highly trained and skilled in using robotic technology for spinal fusions. I found North County’s “Super Star” and after reviewing my tests he immediately diagnosed my condition. I knew his diagnosis was correct, and scheduled surgery the recommended Sacro Illium Joint Fusion. I had previously had an L3-S1 Fusion, but had lingering pain afterwards. I knew when I woke up after surgery that Dr Moazzaz had fixed my problem, the pain was gone. This recovery was a cake walk compared to my previous surgery, which was also very successful.
