Dr. Peter Alfred Galpin, MD

Dr Galpin spent almost 19 hours putting my face back together. I was attacked from behind and was beaten to a pulp and because of Dr. Galpin’s skills I was put back together! Wonderful Doctor!

He is a vile human being. He may border on competence as a surgeon, but is one of the worst men I have ever encountered.

If you want to be dictated to rather than discuss your situation and options then go to this doctor, otherwise go elsewhere.

Refuses any time. Practically zero follow up information or documentation on procedure or virtually any. Almost as if he wants patient to not recover , even acts as if he has something to hide or a grudge against bipedal patients. His medical assistant provides way more information than him but is neglegent and unprofessional. Sanitary standards are practically not of any concern in his private practice.

Great consult and very thorough, BUT WORSE BREAST AUGMENTATION AND LIFE EVER!! Do not see him for anything that speaks boob job! You will waste your money. Deformed breast, deformed areola. I would do ANYTHING to get my old mommy boobs back and start again somewhere else

I was referred to Dr. Galpins office after injuring my hand while on vacation. Since I am only insured in my state of residency, this was going to be a cash visit. When I and my partner questioned him on the cost he was incredulous that we asked. He then questioned me on how I got to Hawaii and if I and my partner were sleeping on the beach. When I questioned him on the potential possibility of not going ahead with surgery he said might be necessary he replied that obviously appearance wasn't important to me. He also made some other inappropriate judgmental remarks but this already paints an unpleasant picture. Furthermore i was charged for a full forearm splint when the break was at my pinkie knuckle.

I was in a bicycle accident, and landed on the left side of my face, which caused my jaw to fracture in four places. I also sustained several deep injuries to my face. With damage on my chin, upper lip, and beside my left eye, I was messed up by this accident. Dr. Galpin saw me first in the E.R. of Maui Memorial, and stitched me up, and wired my fractured jaw. I saw him regularly over the next six weeks and in that time I found him to be direct, informative, funny, and charismatic. This guy means business. No chatty chat chat, just straight to the point! I like that. I usually had all my questions answered after he would update me with my progress, or describe a treatment plan. After the six weeks he unwired my jaw, and two short weeks later I was on to the dental aspect of my accident. Dr. Galpin referred me to an excellent tooth implant specialist as well. In the two months I was visiting his office I found the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere of the office relaxing, and… cozy. It's small too, so you never wait more than a few minutes. My scars on my face are still healing, as I am at about 10 weeks since my crash. The work he did is amazing. The scar on my chin is hardly even visible, and my lip, and the other injury by my left eye is healing beautifully. I am looking more and more like myself. This man is a great surgeon. I am excited to see the end result of my healing!

Didn't even look at the MRI, told me to shut up, rushed the exam (2 minutes checking motion), told me I was not going to get better, and then didn't follow through on his referral. I only went to him to get referred to an Oahu doctor, and after 2 weeks, his staff told me I could call myself!Wouldn't take my medical, and told me that it might not allow me to see a doctor off-island. When I told him that I was certain that it did, he berated me for believing that, as though I'm not capable of understanding my own medical plan.He was a jerk to me. I'm not sure why he has such a high rating here...

I was a trauma victim that came into Maui Memorial Medical center's ER. Dr. Galpin was paged to operate on me and he literally put my face back together. Several months later, I have healed up remarkably well, all thanks to the clinical expertise of Dr. Galpin. His bedside manner was warm, friendly, and reassuring. I'm very fortunate to have been placed under his care.
