Dr. Phillip Michael Bell, MD

After being in great pain after a bike accident, I required a new hip. From my hospital bed I meet Dr. Bell for the first time and eventually found out I could not have been luckier in having him as my surgeon. The surgery went well but it’s what happened after the surgery that is a mystery to me as well as all my friends. You see, from the moment I woke up after the surgery until I am writing this review, and without taking any pain medications, I have had no pain and my hip feels so natural, almost as it was before the accident. I had a little stiffness but that's it, nothing else. After the surgery I felt I could not have had a better surgeon, however after hearing every nurse and support personnel saying “you got the best” reinforced my belief that I was indeed lucky to have gotten Dr. Bell as my surgeon. Based on my visit with Dr. Bell most of these ratings were not written by real people! I agree with the other 1 star rating. HE IS A TERRIBLE DOCTOR! He spent less than 5 minutes with me during my first appointment. He gave me no time to ask questions. He didn’t even look at my knees! He just wanted to talk about pain management and steroid injections. He told me I should just expect pain as I get older (I’m 50!). He was unwilling to help me find out why there was sudden, excruciating pain in both knees. I had to go to another doctor and the Mayo Clinic to be diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. If I’d stayed with him he would have never done anything but treat the symptoms of my RA! DO NOT SEE DR. BELL IF YOU NEED TO FIND OUT THE ROOT CAUSE OF ANY PAIN YOU ARE SUFFERING!

This is my second knee replacement and Dr Bell did my second knee. The two surgeries were like night and day. The knee that Dr Bell did gave me no problems at all. I never used anything to control my pain except Tylenal. He is a very professional and knowledgeable Doctor. If you need knee help call Dr Bell's office

From my first visit, Dr Bell was so gracious and quickly and expertly diagnosed my Hip issues. He immediately ordered on-site X-rays and showed me clearly why I was hurting and how to stop that permanently. Dr Bell is a incredible HIP expert who was also kind, caring, thoughtful and took time to answer all my questions and put me on the road to walking pain free again.

Dr. Bell and his staff are very professional and kind. They answered my questions and concerns promptly. The surgery was perfect and the recovery has been amazing.

I am a 77 year old woman, and have been a patient of Dr Bell for the past few years. I has replaced both my left and right hips. By this age, and being an Air Force wife for 30 years, you can imagine I have had many doctors throughout the country. From my first meeting with Dr Bell, I was impressed with the way I was treated. I felt that I was a very important patient, and was never rushed through my appointments. He also takes the time to answer my questions and makes sure I have a clear understanding of my condition and treatment. A doctor can have a wall full of diplomas and certificates, but if he cannot relate to his patients what good are they. I have also referred friends to Dr Bell, and they have not been disappointed either. I would not hesitate to suggest Dr Bell to anyone needing orthopedic care. Dr. Bell is not a caring doctor. It was my first visit and he spent no time with me. He cared nothing about resolving my knee pain or finding out WHAT was causing the pain. I could barely walk and his only suggestion was steroid shots and pain management. He was zero help in finding out WHY a healthy 50 year old was suddenly in pain and unable to walk for 2 days. I could not recommend seeing him to anyone.
