Had searched the East coast and central Florida looking to find someone who could relieve me of my 14 years of pain that on days would reduce me to tears I came across the BACK Center i Melbourne Fl. and got an appointment with Dr. Hynes , he looked at my XRays etc. and looked at me and said " I can fix that!" now I had seen multiple physicians and been turned down, Dr. Hynes never even hesitated. I was anesthetised , and woke up ( I said to the nurse standing by my bed, " I'm going to have surgery today"! and she replied "You had your surgery two days ago!" I have not had one moments pain since that day

Communication, these people are terrible about Communication. To many people telling when and what to do and it seems they don’t speak with one voice. Just canceled my 3 rd surgery because they changed date to now have blood work done in 2 days. Plus they say they didn’t receive the results of ekg which I sat there and watched the doctor fax it to them. After 2 surgery’s my back is worse then when I first went to Dr. Hynes.

Dr Hynes is an awesome surgeon. He performed bloodless surgery on my son in 2005 from t-4 to s1 to correct 90 degree curvature result of scoliosis. He was 4 inches taller after surgery. After all these years my son has no major complaints. His quality of life has improved significantly. His pain before was unbearable to the point that he could not tolerate seating in his wheelchair. I am very thankful and have recommended him to many friends that also after surgery their quality of life has improved including myself. Will not go to anyone else. Dr Hynes is known in the Melbourne Hospital as the “angel of hope”. When in his office he takes the time to explain the options and very compassionate to other people’s pain. Empathy is needed and he has that quality.

Afterwards, During their disco-gram procedure, They mis-diagnosed my TIA. THE BACK CENTER then advised me I was no longer a candidate or patient and to find another Doctor and get treatment on my own some where else. I wish they had given me that advice before I trusted them for multiple surgeries! Cervical fusions are a bad idea, research carefully and talk with other doctors before proceeding. I trusted them but my trust was misplaced and I paid the price. I was “fired” as a patient because my surgery did not end well there. Something no patient has any control over. After multiple post surgery visits, a PA ADVISED that TIA’s are more common than doctors like to admit. In the end, I ended up with a new injury rather than being helped. Check out CLASSACTIONS against Medtronic, the manufacturer of the hardware/bone growth materials they insert into your spine. Lots of bad stories and results. Talk with other patients!

THERE IS JUST TO MUCH TO WRITE BUT HAD LUMBAR FUSION BONE GRAFT THAT WENT BAD ONE OF THE CAGES DR HYNES PUT IN GOT INFECTED HAD TO HAVE EMERGENCY SURGERY IN WHICH I WAS OUT OF IT AND DON'T REMEMBER 2ND SURGERY AT ALL AN ABCESS CAME THROUGH MY CLOSED INCISION THANK GOD MY HUSBAND RUSHED ME TO HOSPITAL OR I WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY I WAS LEFT BONE ON BONE NERVES STICKING OUT THAT AFFECTS MY LEFT HIP, GROIN AND LEG 24/7 NUMBNESS AND SHOOTING PAIN GOING DOWN LEG HAD PICK LINE FOR 2 MONTHS WITH HEAVY ANTIBIOTICS TWICE A DAY HAVE TO BE ON ANTIBIOTICS FOR REST OF MY LIFE TWICE A DAY BECAUSE HE LEFT ONE IMPLANT IN l5 AND NEW MRI SHOWS POSSIBLE INFECTION AGAIN AND THE CAGE IS SLIPPING WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE ANOTHER MRI TO CONFIRM THE INFECTION HOWEVER HAVE NO COVERAGE AT THE MOMENT I COULDN'T WALK OR DO ANYTHING FOR MYSELF FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS MY HUSBAND HAD TO DO EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING IN WHICH THIS MENTALLY TORE HIM APART ESPECIALLY NOT KNOWING IF I WAS GONNA LIVE OR DIE I NEVER SEEN DR… HYNES EXCEPT THE FIRST SURGERY IN THE O.R. NOT EVEN AFTER THE EMERGENCY SURGERY WHEN I HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL ONLY THE PA THE ONLY TIME DR HYNES WILL SEE YOU IS WHEN HE WANTS TO CUT YOU AGAIN IN WHICH THEY TRIED SETTING ME UP WITH HIM 9 MONTHS AFTER THE EMERGENCY SURGERY WHAT A SHAME THEY DRUGGED ME WITH DILATIN THROUGH IV DILATIN PUMP AND VALUM BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR THE HORROR OF SCREAMS BECAUSE OF PAIN THAT I SUFFERED I AM WORSE NOW THAN BEFORE SURGERY I HAVE LUMPS ALL OVER MY SPINE I WALK HUNCHED BACK CAN'T WALK FAR NEED TO CONSTANTLEY STOP BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE BEING BONE ON BONE I WEIGH 97 POUNDS CAN'T GAIN WEIGHT NO MATTER WHAT I DO I LOOK VERY SICKLY THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE WORSE THING I EVER DID WAS BACK SURGERY AND IT SEEMS THAT NO OTHER DR WANTS TO TOUCH DR HYNES PATIENTS THIS IS REALLY SAD HE HAS DONE MORE DAMAGE TO PEOPLE THAN GOOD I KNOW 5 PEOPLE INCLUDING MY NEIGHBOR THAT DR HYNES HAS RUINED AND OR CRIPPLED BETWEEN THE BACK AND THE NECK SO YOU PEOPLE WHO GIVE HIM 5 STARS AND THINK HE IS THE BEST YOU JUST GOT LUCKY VERY LUCKY I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS BEFORE I DID THIS TERRIBLE DR THAT EVEN MEDICARE DROPPED HIM AND 2 OTHER DRS IN HE UNITED STATES FOR DOING MORE UNNECESSARY SURGERIES THAN HE SHOULD HAVE DONE I HAVE THE PRINT OUT ON THAT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE BUT I AM GETTING SICK JUST THINKING ABOUT WHAT HE HAS DONE JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE BACK CENTER DR HYNES AND DR DATTA BEATRICE

For two I have been under the care of Dr Hynes for possible scoliosis surgery. In that time span,I have been put on medication for osteoporosis as well as tested several times Several tests on spine from outside facilities and including stress test for surgery. He has exercised a lot of caution because of the degree of my scoliosis (62degrees) My trust and respect for Dr Hynes has stayed high during these 2years Jean

doesn't care about you or your injuries,only mission is to get you off work comp,never examined me even though multiple injuries,bulging disc damaged spine,never fixed anything or pain mgmt,just sent me to work light duty,pathetic and I'm in severe paint my films and will definitely go to someone who is not paid by work comp

Dr. Hynes and his PA Dr. Casey Langel are knowledgeable in their profession. What I am complaining about is their staff! I was waiting for over a year for my back surgery with Dr. Hynes, was trying to get a hold of his staff, left messages and never got a phone call back! At first I was told the first staff member that was working on scheduling my appointment for surgery left and another staff member stepped in. Then I tried to get a hold of the next staff member for over a month, I left messages but no return calls. I was hurting to much to wait so I went to another doctor. Best thing I have done about my back. I would of appreciated if they would of at least called me and told me they were have issues or at least something .

I had a lower lumbar fusion 3 years ago. Dr. Hynes never visited me once in the hospital following surgery. always sent an asst.. Appointments were constantly changed to see his assistants. Twice they never even called to cancel, and I made a 2 hour drive for appts that didn't exist .When I complained of extreme pain, I was told to take more meds. At the 6 month follow up visit when I finally got to see Dr. Hynes and told him how much pain I was in, he was extremely rude and told me he was considered God in this field. What a pompous comment! Three years later I have never been in so much pain in my life. What started as just lower back pain has now left me with pinched nerves and severe daily pain running from mid-back all the way down to my toes. I curse this man's name every day for ruining the quality of my life. I feel like I am in my 90s instead of 50s.
