I just had my 4th lower joint replacement done by DR Stephen Murphy. It has been just 3 weeks post surgery and I feel almost back to normal. After every surgery I healed quickly and never needed to take narcotic drugs for pain relief after leaving the hospital, I took Tylenol for the discomfort that wasn’t really pain. I am 75 years old and was a little out of shape as I had limped for 6 months pre surgery. Even so I am healing very quickly.

With 3 - 4 weeks I was nearly back to normal. I was often in the hospital only 1 - 2 nights. I might mention I am not an athlete in tip top condition but an older person in average shape. He also explained the surgical process well.

Dr. Stephen Murphy performed my THR surgery at his outpatient clinic and as an athlete I asked Dr. Murphy if I could go back to my active lifestyle. Dr. Murphy said I would have no restrictions and to listen to my body as I recover and rehabilitate. Dr. Murphy did an excellent job and I am back to about 90% five months post op and am very excited about continuing my active lifestyle.

Went to Dr. Murphy for two consecutive hip replacements, first the right and then the left. His less invasive surgical method ensured a quick recovery each time.

Dr Stephen MURPHY is a terrfic surgeon ! He is exacting and gets results. His computer guided technique WORKS!!! My total knee repkacement was very successful. . Don't get me wrong -- It is painful and a long re-hab, though I was walking the day after surgery... People write that he is not all cuddly. Saw for consultation. Very cold and distant demeanor. Hardly spoke to me. Got diagnosis wrong. Spent minimal time with me. Waited 3 1/2 hours in waiting room. Obviously doesn’t care about how his practice is managed. May be a good surgeon but don’t expect a good doctor- patient relationship.

Dr Murphy replaced my hip and knee. Prior to the knee replacement, I had 5 prior knee surgeries from an injury while playing college football. I had my left hip replaced first. He did such a excellent job replacing my hip, I had him replace my right knee. It was the first time in 40 yrs that I had no knee pain. I was able to play golf 5 wks after both replacement surgeries. Every time I am asked who did my surgeries, I highly recommend Dr Murphy. I have referred 7 people, now 8 to Dr Murphy. He is by far the best orthopedic that has treated me.

Dr. Murphy has performed my right hip replacement and in a short time I have been almost back to normal. This was the most amazing surgery I have ever experienced, and though I am a senior citizen I have never felt better in years. He came highly recommended and was well worth the wait! His secretary is excellent. I am so grateful.
