Dr. Suur Biliciler

If you want to avoid all the unnecessary testing then there is only one great neurologist, and that would be Dr Sheila Jacobson. This doctor looks at her social media DURING YOUR appointment!

I had never been more thoroughly examined in my life, great bedside manners, no rushing whatsoever, very explanatory conversations all throughout the visit for the most untrained ears. As a relative of two great doctors, Dr.Pinar Karakas (UCSF Pediatric Radiologist) and Dr. Zafer Ozturk (head of Rheumatology Dept of Sanofi US) I have an idea what is expected during a visit, this exceeded all my expectations. Thank you Dr.Boyle for referring me to someone who truly cares!

Before I visited Dr. Biliciler, I read reviews here first. When I read the part where she answered phone calls while she is in with a patient, I became skeptical about her ethical responsibility to patients but decided to find out myself. So I had EMG tests yesterday. There were two inexperience technicians that electrocuted me in the wrong places. While I was suffering, Dr. Biliciler came in and decided to redo the electrocution on her own. BUT, the first thing happened when she got in was a phone call, the ringer was on the maximum volume also. She quickly answered the call in front of everyone in the examination room (two technicians, my husband, and myself). If only these calls were urgent, I may not be so judgmental. The only thing I heard was "Yes, yes, okay, sure, okay, yes." From then on, it seems to use the phone while a patient is present becomes a trend, both EMG technicians were on their phone as soon as there was a second of free moment. There was three phone… calls Dr. Biliciler answered and two texts she sent while I was there. She also has heavy Turkish accent so at times it was difficult for me to understand what she said. Now, if you like paying high deductible insurance to visit Dr. Biliciler, being an EMG lab rat, and waiting in awkward moments for Dr. Biliciler repetitively texting and answering calls, you should visit her. From other reviewers here, I read she is also not good with follow-up. I do not want to waste any further time with a person like her so I decided to find another neurologist who has more interest in helping patients suffered from Neuropathy. I hope whoever reads this find this review useful. And to Dr. Biliciler, if you read this, I hope you can put that phone aside when you are with a patient to give your undivided attention. Also, please educate your technicians to be more communicative in prepping the patient when they were going to give a strong electric shock and not to scream at patient for being in pain when that happened.

She is very competent, very knowledgeable, and very easy to talk to. But......If you have tests done, you will not find out the results until the next time you see her. If you need a prescription refilled, you need to start calling the office 2 weeks before you run out or you will NEVER get it refilled. If you need an appointment plan on waiting 6 weeks.

She may be a very good doctor, she seemed thorough, however (1) her office did not make sure they had all of my records, even though it took two months to get in to see her; (2) after several calls I finally made sure my records were in her office; (3) 4 weeks after my appointment and I have still not heard back from her as to the results of my visit. So, who knows if she is any good or not ...

At first I was impressed with this doctor; however, after several visits it became apparent that the doctor was only interested in treating me as a test subject for payment by my insurance rather than a patient. What doctor runs test and giggles during the procedures?

I would and have highly recommended Dr. Biliciler to others. Great "bedside manners", very carrying and knowledgable. Have been to two other muscularneurologists in the medical center and she has shown more interest in diagnosing my condition. Answers any questions I have without rushing through the office visit[exam. She was highly recommended by anotgher neurologist here in Houston. He was not able to help me with my condition and recommended her. I have no plans to change doctors.
