Dr. Curtis Worthington is board certified in Neurological Surgery and has been in Neurosurgical practice for over 30 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Worthington has special interest in degenerative spine disease and in Neuro-oncology (brain tumors). His experience in the field of Stereotactic Radiosurgery is certainly the most extensive in the state of South Carolina. He was a founding member of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society. He has received various awards and citations and has many peer-reviewed publications to his name. Past academic appointments have included Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has lectured around the world including in India and South Africa and in 2024 will serve in a mission hospital in Kenya.

Dr Worthington did a fantastic job in fixing my back problem and making me nearly pain free. I had been in excruciating pain for at least a decade before my GP and pain specialist referred me to him.

Dr. Worthington ordered physical therapy for me but his nurse never called it in. I had to do several follow ups.

Dr. Worthington's treatment reversed my first episode of back pain. His conservative approach to surgical intervention and straight forward explanation of my problem took away the stress I experienced after my initial visit to a local, huge volume spine clinic.

Very personable and careful physician. Dr. Worthington is very good at taking the time to explain the diagnosis and carefully walk you through all of the options and the pros and cons of each. This good "bedside manner" is also paired with excellent surgical skill.

Dr Worthingon has been my physician for over 20 years. He is impeccable with his care. Highly recommended Neurosurgeon (and a pretty good on screen actor!!) Would not be comfortable with any other Doctor :-)

Dr Worthington took on my husband after a very serious accident and removed a pituitary adenoma with excellent results. His professionalism, concern, and follow through are top notch! We would very highly recommend him.

I am not sure why anyone would call Dr. Worthington a hack. He is an excellent surgeon. He does not do surgery if he does not think he can help you 100%. If you want to receive expert medical care then Dr. Worthington is your best choice.

Horrible. He recommended the wrong procedure in my case and I now have to have another surgery that may not work due to what he did to begin with. Please, do yourself a favor. Find another neurosurgeon.
