Thank you for the level of care and compassion you gave me during my recent surgery. I'm so grateful to have found a doctor who cares about his patients.

After colon surgery and two follow up surgeries for complications in Georgia, Dr. Hsu agreed to take me in under his care. Prior to my arrival in St. Augustine on a Friday afternoon with my health deteriorating daily, he had already throughly reviewed and documented my case history and walked my family through his recommended plan for full recovery. The following Monday, Dr. Hsu completed the initial surgery (over 4 hours) cleaning up infection and multiple abscesses) with final follow-up surgery scheduled in 60 days. Dr. Hsu’s Plan worked and there is no question he saved my life. I have had a lot of exposure to doctors in my 61 years (self and family) and from our perspective, he is absolutely one of the top surgeon’s in the country and is now the number 1 go to doctor for our family. I can say with a high degree of confidence that the staff at Flagler Hospital have nothing but positive comments about Dr. Hsu. Dr Hsu My father in law had a colon resection surgery in Georgia and let’s just say it did not go well. He had multiple complications and surgeries after that due to the fact that that doctor did not ever fix the actual problem. That doctor had another doctor covering him while he went on vacation which was not appropriate amongst the other inappropriate and unprofessional things that happened. So we were about to be faced with another major surgery but Dr Hsu so graciously took him in and finally fixed the problem. It was very a complicated surgery but he has slowly gotten better! Unlike the other hospital he had finally gotten some good news. I am so glad he got out of there and got to a more experienced, calm, honest, caring, just an all around awesome doctor. He has great bedside and operating room manners! His office, operating room, and floor staff are amazing also which is another plus. His team couldn’t be any better. They are all very experienced, calm, and caring… also. My father in law will still have to have another surgery coming up but we have total faith in Dr.Hsu. If you get any advice out of this review people please do your research on which surgeon to pick. You can always have a second opinion. I work in the medical field and you would be surprised at what goes on. Always ask the surgeon how many of these have you done? How many complications? But I can narrow it down right now for you and just pick Dr.Hsu. You won’t be disappointed.

Dr.Hsu is an amazing surgeon. He has done 2 surgeries for me. I haven't had any complications. He explains everything and is glad to answer any questions you ask He takes his time with his patients to make sure they are comfortable with what hes doing. His office staff is great. He is the only surgeon I will ever let operate on me. He has great bedside manner. Just overall a great doctor.

First surgery ever.Severe pain. One year later had to have a repair surgery to correct the slippage and rotation. Not a happy patient!

Excellent medical professional. Great bedside manner, reminds me of my country doctor when Ii was a kid growing up in rural NC. Explains everything in an understandable manner. Procedures went great with no after effects other than what was to be expected, soreness and getting digestive tract back to normal. Thank You Dr. Shu and staff.

Dr. Hsu helped me with an infection on my gluteus which was very embarrassing, but Dr. Hsu's demeanor put me at ease right away. He helped me tremendously! He was thorough and very professional while also being very down to earth. I would highly recommend Dr. Hsu to anyone who may need an operation.

Dr. Hsu removed my gallbladder and was wonderful at explaining everything!
