Dr. Abigail Stanton, MD

Dr. Stanton has been the only psychiatrist who diagnosed me Right Bipolar/ADD. They mimick each other.,plus she helped me to realize that I have a learning Disability.

I absolutely would refer others to see Dr. Stanton. She is kind, caring and really listens to me. She takes the time you need with her and does not cut you short.

Dr.Stanton is awesome. She is very knowledgeable and right on the mark. She looks up med interactions (because I am on other med besides psych meds) and makes sure there are no interactions. She goes on computer to see where I can get the best price for meds and Co pays. I disagree with those who state she is rude. I find her quirky and insightful. I've been seeing her for over a year and I am grateful for the excellent care she has provided.

She is very knowledgable. She is great and I have made so much progress!

Dr. Stanton is wonderful! She is very caring and attentive! My only complaint would be that the office does not accept credit cards, it's cash or check only. Seeing as I have an FSA card, I would really like to be able to use it for my co-payment charges there. Although, finding a good doctor is hard come by, so she is well worth the inconvenience of not being able to use my card!!

Your reviews are like reading a checklist of all the things that I too experience with her. BUT what you forgot is that she always has to have the last word. No matter what the subject, she knows all. She did it before you and she did it better than you can imagine. Also, her appearance. I cant give her enough credit to say she looks like she rolled out of bed. The staff there is rude and are not equipped to deal with people like us who have real issues. The office used to call at 10 pm reminding you of your appointment the next day and stating that they need 24 hours notice to cancel. HUH talk about entrapment. I got into an argument with the receptionist over that and she pocketed my co-pay. Appointments are always late, even double booked - but of course, NOT HER FAULT. I left Medicine Woman once and am leaving her again. She has me back on Wellbutrin which sedates me. In her words, I am wired weird. We have tried it every time of day and dosage except inter-venous and… it makes me sleepy. And she puts me back on it. BYE BYE!

At the end of my last appointment with her she said..."I've wasted my time with you." Enough said

I have to agree with other reviewers. I stopped taking my medication because I did not need it anymore and she kept saying that she has patients that are on it until they are 40. No Dr. Stanton when I said I wanted to get off of it, I MEANT IT. She also rushes me and only gives me 3-5 min to talk to her and then sends me off. She is always rude, abrasive, and condescending. I'm glad I don't have to see her anymore. I also referred someone else to her and she was extremely rude to her. Oh well...

I have to echo the person who said that Dr. Stanton is the rudest person they've ever met. Not just rude, but mean, and downright nasty. I see her for anxiety and depression, and ALWAYS leave her office feeling worse. Outside of the initial consultation, her practice is strictly limited to brief med checks. She ridiculously overbooks and is always running behind, even early in the morning. Med check appointments are rapid fire, in and out, take your prescription and leave. You get about 3-5 minutes, then get shown the door. Some of the rude behavior, I think, might be a tactic to detach herself from the patient so that you never feel at ease and leave quickly. She refuses to address you by your first name (insists on Miss. Jones, Mr. Smith, etc.), rarely faces you, and never makes direct eye contact. She turns her back to you and types at the computer for the duration of the appointment. When you first walk in and she asks the obligatory, â??How are doing today,â?? you had better tell… her that life is sunshine and lollipops, or risk her cutting you down for any problem you may be experiencing. One time, when I mentioned problems with an abusive parent, she snapped, â??Well what did you do to them to deserve it?â?? I went home in tears. Nice way to talk to a victim of domestic violence. This woman has no business practicing medicine, let alone psychiatric patients who are already severely depressed. I am in worse shape now than I was when I started seeing her. I wonâ??t be going back.
