Dr. Adriana-Maria Boiangiu, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Boiangiu's for approximately seven years. During that time, she failed to diagnose both my bipolar disorder and my ADD. These are hardly exotic conditions. My new therapist correctly diagnosed me and also helped break through my crippling avoidance (which Dr. Boiangiu never helped me with) in less than 6 months. If you'd also like to waste the better part of a decade of your life, then by all means seek treatment from this incompetent charlatan. I really trusted this woman. Biggest and most irreversible mistake of my life.

Quite simply, Dr. Boiangiu has helped to save me from myself. She has helped me find hope and a continued reason to work towards a mentally healthy life. As one who has battled deep depression since childhood (I am presently 75 years old), I thank God for putting Dr. Boiangiu in my life. I have seen many psychiatrists over the course of my lifetime but have never before known a doctor as kind, compassionate or as wise and intelligent as Dr. Adriana Boiangiu. The progress I have made since beginning my therapy with Dr. Boiangiu is unlike anything I could have hoped for. I shall remain grateful to this extraordinary doctor for the rest of my life.

I don't think Dr Boiangiu is qualified, thoughtful enough, or has enough integrity to be prescribing psychiatric drugs over the phone. Possible elder abuse. I am the stepdaughter and caregiver of a woman under Dr. Adriana Boiangiu's “care”. She repeatedly prescribed Valium for my 78 year old stepmother (about 200 lbs) whom I shall call AH, in spite of the fact that it was causing AH to end up helpless on the floor repeatedly. She slid off her bed, slid off her chair, and was unable to get up because she was so drugged out from the Valium. In the meantime, there is my father, 93 years old and fairly well demented, 146 lbs, who has recently suffered two strokes and pneumonia. Not a good candidate for helping her when she is on the floor. So three mornings in a row, they called their neighbor, who came over and helped her get up. Then one night she spent the night on the living room floor until 3 am, when my father came out looking for her. They called the fire department, who got her… off the floor that time. So she stopped taking Valium, smart move on someone's part. Then for some reason, Dr Adriana Boiangiu decided to prescribe Valium for her AGAIN (as a “sleep aid”), knowing the history of her previous use. And I actually heard AH on a tele-med phone appointment with Dr Boiangiu, explaining/reminding how she had ended up on the floor several times before because of her Valium usage. So what did Dr. Boiangiu do? Renewed her prescription for Valium. As AH's caregiver and stepdaughter, the only mentally competent family member that she sees at all (and actually on a very regular basis), I was concerned when AH was unable to get up out of a massage chair very recently one morning. Why? Because she had taken 4 Valium to “help her sleep” the night before. So I called Dr Adriana Boiangiu's office, and left a message stating that I would like to talk to her about AH's Valium use, that I thought it was dangerous, and that I understood that she could not tell me anything about AH as I am not on her list of contacts, but that I would like to tell Dr Boiangiu something about AH, so she could be safe. So what did Dr. Adriana Boiangiu do? She called AH and told her that I had contacted her. AH told me she didn't appreciate that, although she does appreciate all the kind care I take of them. But did the doctor who prescribed the “medicine” that was incapacitating and endangering AH bother to call me back, to hear what I had to say? No. My takeaway from this is that Dr Boiangiu has no business prescribing heavy (or any) “psychiatric” drugs for seniors over the phone. But I am just a layperson and daily caregiver, what do I know?

Dr. Biiangui has been a tremendous asset to my healing process. he is up-to-date on emerging therapeutic modalities and is responsive to my needs. She discusses a wide range of treatment options and is supportive of my efforts to heal myself. Also, and very importantly, she has current information on psychiatric medications.
