Dr. Agostino J. Visioni, MD

The office forced me to see the Physicians Assistant before having the consult with Dr. Visioni. Having had two visits to have a 10 minute cursory review of my case in which he was unfamiliar, combative when I had questions and generally unpleasant to deal with. I had spinal surgery on my back in Germany and he was dismissive and having paid for 2 visits, and taken off work to see this individual, was told, I should never have had the surgery and that he would never have recommended it had he seen me first. However, it has helped my condition and he certainly did not. Complete waste of time and he seemed dismissive and overall very unhelpful and rude.

So I was with Dr Berlad until he retired, had a fusion surgery last year, been having neck and upper backbspasms for 6 months, was referred to this guy by Dr Berlad's staff, huge mistake. The front office doesn't call back when promised, you have to keep at them. My visit with him was useless as he didnt review the chart and extensive history I gave. He didnt want to listen and just wanted more PT, been doing home pt for a year but he wants the PT at MWH to see me. I called and messaged me he next day to get muscle relaxers, no call back or message back as the nurses line says will return message within 24 hours. Well it's been almost a week. If you are in pain forget this creep and his lousy staff.

I met Dr Visioni once prior to my back surgery 2 weeks ago. I find him very easy too talk to. He is thorough in explaining the procedures,and an excellent bedside manner. I received quick results unto which I am very grateful and thank God for sending me to Dr Visioni. I also felt very comfortable with his office staff. I felt they were very qualified and easy to talk to.

My husband was followed by Johns Hopkins for CNS tumors. Once he no longer needed to be followed by Hopkins we established care with Dr Visioni because he needed to have continued follow up MRI's and care related to his VP Shunt. At the time he was fine with my husband switching to him as his local provider. We went in for what should have been a follow up on MRI's and shunt reprograming. When we got there all he did was reprogram the shunt, told us it did not appear to be draining correctly, and did not review the MRI's. He said we should call Hopkins - which we did and we were told that the local neurosurgeon could adjust the setting. The nurse from Dr Visioni called back and left a voicemail stating the Dr Visioni would not adjust the shunt that we needed to go back to the surgeon who placed it. I have scheduled an appt with another local neurosurgeon who has said we can transfer care to him however we have to wait 4 weeks which means my husband will be sick at least for another 4… weeks. The point to establishing care last year was so we had a local MD who specialized in increased cranial pressure and at the time Dr Visioni said he could do that. It is very upsetting that now that there is an issue with the shunt he does not want to provide care. If that was the case he should have said so a year ago rather than wait until there was an issue and then refuse to provide medical care. The office was clean and the staff was nice so for that I give it a 2 star but would not recommend this neurosurgeon. I have met with many over the past 2 years and this was the first time a doctor has refused care without a reason and it was left in a voicemail which is not at all an acceptable way of informing a patient with a serious medical condition that your not going to treat them.

Dr. Visioni performed my back surgery in 2011, almost 5 years ago at this writing. I had a ruptured disc at L4/L5. He also cleaned up another doctor's mess from the previous year on my L5/S1. I haven't had a problem in the past 5 years. Dr. Visioni is very thorough, has an excellent bedside manner and follows up to make sure all is well. I hope I don't have to make another visit to see Dr. Visioni, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate. I have, and will continue, to recommend him.

I was scheduled to have a lumbar fusion when some unusual symptoms appeared before the surgery. Dr Visioni recognized that these symptoms were unusual and not normal for the back problem I had. He had his staff schedule a new MRI to see what was going on. He noticed new possible tumors in my spine, confirmed the finding with a radiologist and sent me back to have my brain and entire spine imaged (MRI), I had not even left the hospital when he called me with the results of the MIR - although the brain was clear the spine was confirmed to have cancer tumors. He cancelled the scheduled surgery and had his staff schedule a CT scan and referred me to oncology - the CT scan showed active cancer in the liver, lungs and newly developed tumors in the spine. Subsequent biopsy showed the cancer was melanoma. Dr. Visioni saved my life - due to his analysis, testing, evaluation of my symptoms and spine. His care for me as a patient is simply wonderful. The Dr. Visioni was the worst ever. I had a surgery on my back scheduled. Then 20 minute's before it he called and would not do my surgery. He and his staff were very ignorant. As if they were better than me. I hate this practice and recommend you go somewhere else.

It has now been 2 years since my back surgery by Dr. Visioni, On my last appt with him, he said I could do anything I wanted and he was so right. I have been without any back pain and I thank God and Dr. Visioni every single day.
