Dr. Akankasha Goyal, MD

Rushed and uninterested doctor. Didn’t ask me at about my symptoms, didn’t pay attention to anything I had to say. Just wanted me to take basic blood tests and then review the results. I had to call her office back as she forgot to put half of the tests on the lab order.

I had a terrible experience with this provider. Dr. Goyal is not experienced in basic hand hygiene. She is a terrible communicator with patients and does not work well with family members. I would avoid this doctor at all costs.

Dr. Goyal has been my endocrinologist for over two years. She is a great doctor in a very strong practice. She’s always prompt, clear and friendly. She gives excellent advice, always supported by clinical data and research. She remembers her patients, her recommendations are clear and realistic. I have full trust in her— she has helped me lose weight when I thought it was impossible and has stabilised by thyroid problems. I recommend her 100%

I originally saw Dr. Goyal for blood sugar problems and my loss of hair. I saw her for ten minutes the first time and told her how I am having blood sugar problems and that I was hypoglycemic. I’ve seen her 2x. As I told her the first time I am losing my hair and about how I take care of my hypoglycemia she was ending the session, made no comment and left the room. I spoke to her about her leaving the room in the 2nd visit as my hair thinning was worse and am distressed. She said I was being abusive as I mentioned how she walked out of the room (I said that 2x) and that her patients love her. I said let’s then stick with the data. I was having blood sugar problems. She prescribed Glucagon 1mg though she did not tell me she was doing it. When I picked it up from CVS, I did not know what it was. It said to be given in doctor’s office. I brought it to the2nd appointment and asked what it was. I opened it and was surprised to see a syringe, etc. I told her I did not know how to use it. … She said the pharmacy was supposed to show me which they never did. She said she would send someone in to demonstrate how to use it which never happened. I will never see her again and am seeing an endocrinologist outside of NYU. She is irresponsible and unprofessional.
