Dr. Alan Howard Gorn, MD

I saw Dr. Gorn And was very please with my experience. I have seen multiple Dr.’s for rheumatology and none have been as thorough as Dr. Gorn. He really took the time to explain things and make me feel comfortable with the treatment plan. The office wait is a bit long but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the wait!

Yet another physician who doesn't listen and immediately dismisses your problems when they don't fit neatly into their preconceived ideas. Probably the worst part about Dr. Gorn's bedside manner is the condescending way that he responded to my simple questions. When I asked him why a certain medication made my symptoms go away he cut me off and told me he was trying to explain that, which he wasn't, and in the end he really was never available to answer my question. In the end, he offered me no solutions I haven't already tried and told me to take some tylenol

Not helpful, poor communication, never on time, poor working relationship with patients. Support staff is terrible.

I would suggest getting a rheum that is on your side and comes from a place of "yes". This guy does not advocate for his patients and his assistant waits for a month to get a response for medication or infusions for his patients. He does not email patients back. There are a lot of choices with doctors- doctors who are on time, keep appointments, and realize these diseases are serious business. I suggest finding a rheum who is on your side with this situation and not someone is like Dr. Gorn.

After years of seeing doctors who could not help me, Dr. Gorn has absolutely changed my life. He found the right medication to treat my lupus and has wonderful bedside manner, something that many doctors lack.

He cancels appointments consistently, his assistant is a nightmare, and he accuses you of having a “side” rheumatologist when you don’t? If you leave his appointments because you have other medical appointments scheduled and he’s made you wait 90 min he thinks you are unreasonable and says picking another doctor is your right. How about keep your appointments, be somewhat on time, and don’t call your patients liars? There are a ton of rheumatologist- choose another one!

After lecturing me for 45 mins, Dr. Gorn compared me to a horse saying 'you might as well k*ll a lame horse if it can't be ridden' because I've not been able to be as active as I'd like or he liked me to be because of the pain I'm in. It was my first visit and he attempted to m*nipulate my emotions as well with personal things I told him. Just thought people should know before going to him. I had even told him I was s*icidal and dealing with that, yet he still made that comment.

Outstanding rheumatologist! Needs to train as many providers about t he importance of early and exact diagnosis so that other disease related problems do not develop. Outstanding a ending rheumatologist who is NOT afraid to diagnose and treat a rheumatalogic condition. Best Rheumatologist Ever! Worth the wait for time spent & accuracy.

I am so disappointed that this doctor turned out to be just awful. Yes, he was late, bu that's not why. For a rheumatologist, he was terrible. Arrogant to the point of taking no labs, and making me feel like it was "all in my head". When a patient is seeing a rheumatologist, it is because of an autoimmune disease, most likely. And autoimmune diseases cause a lot of various symptoms. He gets mean towards the end of the appointment if you ask to many questions. I will not be returning to this doctor.

Dr. Gorn is as good as it gets! My primary care physician has worked with Dr. Gorn and said he is known and respected at a national level, one of the very best in the country.
