Dr. Stuart Lloyd Silverman, MD

Read the reviews here and pay attention to the bedside manner comments. He's rude and rough in his exams. For patients who have sensitive muscles and bodies, this is not only uncomfortable but can be permanently damaging. Trust me, you'll regret going to see him. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

I’ve been seeing him for over 10 years. Never waited longer then ten minutes. Never does unnecessary test or medications. Is always willing to listen to new medical findings by me. He is kind and respectful. And Ros is the best.

I feel that any expertise and skill he may have in the field of fibromyalgia is unfortunately completely negated by how incredibly poorly his office is run and how terrible his bedside manner is. He has no time to listen to you, demands you describe yourself in a 1-10 scale and cuts you off if you try to talk more. He seems to only be able to discuss medications in the most clinical of terms which is not helpful unless you are one of his medical students. If I ask what a drug is, I am not asking for the chemical name of it. So you better be VERY SPECIFIC in what you say and how you say it. Do NOT expect your prescription refill requests to be sent to the pharmacy for maybe 1, 2, 3 or MORE days which will likely put you through (possibly dangerous/debilitating depending on the medication) withdrawal every other month for a few days because whoever handles sending prescriptions to the pharmacy (it's not silverman) can not EVER do that in a timely fashion. It's actually harmful and… completely ridiculous. I hope he continues to do research, but perhaps he should stick to teaching and research, or at the VERY VERY LEAST get some new people to handle prescriptions.

Dr. Silverman exemplifies what it means to be a wonderful humanitarian and a brilliant physician. He truly cares about the well being of ALL of his patients and he demonstrates this by always "listening" to his patients concerns. He is extremely intelligent and provides his patients wt. outstanding medical care. Every year he performs 100's of hours of medical research to further increases his abilities to assist his patients & provide them with the best care. He promptly returns emails & phone calls & he has even answered emergency phone calls on the weekend. He saved my life because other doctors misdiagnosed me when I actually had a life threatening illness. He also saved my mother's life when another physician had her on a drug that she was allergic to & was making her critically ill. He got her off the drug and got her on the correct treatment plan she made a full recovery under Dr. Silverman's care. I strongly recommend that anyone who is suffering from a medical illness in Dr.… Silverman's area of expertise go to see him at once. Who knows, he might just save your life too!

He may be an "expert" in the field of fibromyalgia, but that didn't translate into good patient care. I saw him for over two years and he really didn't help me very much. He did not return calls between office visits. He didn't suggest medications to try. I felt seeing him was a waste of my time.

Dr. Silverman does not agressively seek the underlying etiology(s) of your cfs to attack the problem at its root. I didn't have a blood test until my 4th visit and had one only because I requested one; he didn't even realize remember that i had never had one. He holds to his approach to CFS, which he helped develop, and which in large part has since been disproven and is incapable of thinking outside the FDA box for a debility for which there are currently no approved medications. I regret wasting the time while I still had insurance and could afford treatment on him, trusting in his credentials and affiliation with cedars. For CFS/ME, find a doctor who will immediately start testing you for the plethora of chronic infections common to CFS sufferers and then agressively attack them by any means that are promising, on label or not. Don't put your life in this dissimive and arrogant man's hands.
