Awesome Doctor!!

He is considered t be a god surgeon, BUT his office botched 3 procedures on me. He replaced my left hip, but it was done wrong and it is now 1/3 of an inch longer with the result that I have a limp. He did a bunionectomy on my left foot and it was set wrong so I had to do it over. Finally the office tried to take out 2 screws from the bunion surgery and it took 2 hours with fair amount of pain. So not a good track record for me.

I fractured my clavicle Saturday morning and needed to see a specialist ASAP. I called early the Katy Office Monday morning and got an appointment before lunch. I had read the reviews about a Great doctor and waiting time so I was prepared and brought a book with me. As a new patient there is always a lot of paperwork to fill out, wherever you go. It took me about 45 minutes to complete and then I read for about 15 minutes. I was called and invited into an examination room. Dr. Rechter came in after ~2 minutes. He has a great personality, very professional, friendly and caring. Listened attentively and seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. I have a background as Critical Care Nurse and I am very picky about who I trust to treat me. I felt very confident with Dr. Rechter and trusted his advice. He took his time both to listen and to explain different treatment options. I have a very active lifestyle and my goal is to recover 100%, ASAP so it was a great plus Dr. Rechter is a… Specialist in both Orthopeadic Surgery and understood my urge to keep up with AMAP of my activities during my recovery. I was ready to go for the surgery and Dr. Rechter advised me to give it 1-2 weeks first with conservative treatment, ‘Figure 8’ Clavicle Splint, and then evaluate the healing progress during my next visit with X-Rays etc., with surgery still an option. His assistant came and helped me with the splint and then Dr. Rechter checked so it was supporting and stretching out my clavicle in correct position. I am not visiting doctor offices more often than necessary so even if the waiting time can be annoying, to be treated by the best Doctor is far more important for me. I was prepared and brought my book and phone. There can be many reasons for why there are waiting time, e.g. many Patients take longer time than expected and the doctor takes the time necessary with each and everyone... maybe the office staff can go over their scheduling and allocated patient time and make some adjustments... I will return to see, and be treated by, a fabulous doctor.

The staff is awful at his Katy location. I have had surgery with Dr. Rechter; he did a great job. However, in the many visits I have had over the last year and the two issues I have had, never have I had a prescription filled right. They never call them in to the pharmacy as promised and once, I had to drive 50 miles round trip because they didn't put one script on the right prescription pad and I had to wait until the next day for pain meds after surgery because their office had closed. This was a controlled substance so they can't call them in. Stupidly, I referred my daughter there and couldn't get the surgical coordinator to respond to calls. They are obviously short staffed and it becomes the patient's problem. Again, the Dr. is great but it isn't worth what you have to go through with his staff.

Awesome Doc !! Really knows his stuff !! I have been going to joint docs since I was 15 and have had multiple surgeries. have been seeing Dr Rector since late 90's and wish we could have met way before that ! he did a total Knee replacement in 2013and I am soooo glad we got it done !! feeling much better and enjoying my kids again !!

Did excellent work on my knee about ten years ago.

My son and I have been going to Dr. R for years - I TRUST him implicitly as what he is telling me I need to do. So - I am getting ready to have a left side hip replacement and I am afraid, but I know that since he is doing it - I will be fine! Also, I cannot say enough about his PA, Marlene, I get to work very early and if I have a problem - typically the hip issue now - she answers PROMOTLY and tells what she is GOING to do...and that is so HUGE to me!!! She genuinely has my BEST interests at heart!!!! The front office is testy- I get they are constantly busy - but behind the scenes- you will never have this amazing, optimal care as Dr. R and Marlene provide to their patients anywhere else!!!! I totally recommend this doctor and his TEAM - and have several times -they came away with the same feeling as me!!!
