Dr. Alan Zicherman was born in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the City College of New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1969. He graduated New York University School of Dentistry in 1973. He was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and received both the Orthodontic and Pediatric dental awards at graduation. He did his Pediatric Dental specialty training at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center (affiliated with NYU). After receiving his Pediatric Dental certificate in 1975, he and Dr. Merle opened their practices in Lynn and Peabody. Dr. Zicherman became a Diplomate of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1987.
Dr. Zicherman is a member 0f the American Dental Society, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and is a member and …past president of the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Zicherman lives with his wife of 29 years, Marjorie, who is a nurse and Justice of the Peace. They have two daughters, Jennifer and Tracey. Dr. Zicherman is an avid skier, has completed five marathons, has won two single club championships at the Bass River tennis club, and has been lucky enough to have two hole-in-ones at golf.
