Dr. Alla Gartsman, MD

I went to see Dr. Gartsman about two years (2018) ago for a regular well woman's exam. To make a long story short, one year later, I found out that I had a 21cm sized fibroid in my uterus. How a fibroid of that size couldn't be detected just one year prior, by Dr. Gartsman, is beyond me. Dr. Gartsman performed a pap smear and she also felt my uterus, as part of the exam. Not once was I told that my uterus felt enlarged. It was a nurse practitioner from another hospital that told me that my uterus felt enlarged. She actually told me that my uterus was about the size of a 4 month pregnancy. As a board certified doctor, I'd think that Dr. Gartsman would have been able to detect that. Never have I written a negative or positive review about a doctor. I'd never waste my time writing a negative review unless I felt it to be absolutely necessary. I ended up getting the UFE procedure for my fibroids, which turned out great. The Interventional Radiologist and gynecology team I had at UCI were… amazing. The good news is that I'm healthy and strong and the UFE procedure was one of the best decisions I've made for myself when it comes to this issue. But I'd definitely think twice about going to a doctor who can't detect one of the most common reproductive tumors women have. This wasn't a small tumor; it was huge. This is not about making anyone look bad; I'd be the last person to want to do that, but I do take my health seriously. You want to make sure to choose a doctor who does the same.

I was very pleased with my experience during my visit with doctor Alla Gartsman. It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. I have been able to talk to the doctor and get my problems resolved. Everyone from her team was very friendly and professional as well. Moreover, it was great not having to wait so that I could get back to my day.

Nowadays it's hard to find a Dr who actually listens, Dr Gartsman listens and doesn't wait to see what happens with your health. She is aggressive in her treatment and listens to your concerns.

Office staff are a nightmare. Rude and incompetent to the point of risking the patients health.

Dr Gartsman has been my Dr for 7 years and I have had many medical issues, she always pays attention to my concerns and listens.

The front office staff is friendly/efficient; the nurse and insurance handler give advice or false excuses (I didn't get the message, I was on vacation, didn't get the second message, or the 3rd etc.). No wonder I'd seen her erupt on them more than once. I'd thought to stay with Dr. Garstman for the front staff despite her own iciness, but too often found her mean, belittling and extremely uncaring.
