Dr. Allen Michael Lifton, MD

I saw Dr Lifton and found him to be a caring Dr, listened to my concerns and did not brush me off, he ordered tests then saw him again and explained the results, did not push any medications. He listened!

I started with this office last year. My first visit was with the PA Brian. He was very nice, caring and reviewed my symptoms and leaned towards RLS. Next visit was with Dr. Lifton. When he first entered the room he literally stared at me for almost 10 minutes in silence. No introduction or anything, then all of a sudden he says "hows your foot". I could tell by that remark that he must not have even reviewed my chart. I was quite confused by this and proceeded to tell him my issues. My husband asked him one question and he seemed very annoyed and went on this long technical analogy about car engines and how they related to nerves. Anyway, he did not concur with his PA's initial diagnosis and also wondered why he had put me on gabapetin. With that being said, he increased my gabapetin....which was strange. Next visit was with the PA and during that visit I was told that the Dr had an unbelievable ability to diagnose someone by just simply looking at them, which was equally… strange. I have had multiple issues with this office regarding refills, not getting callbacks and being told by the office manager that they take "Great pride in being different". Moral of my story, I have moved on to another neurologist in the Sarasota area and it has been like night and day.

Dismissive, abrupt, does not answer questions, doesn't listen to responses to his questions. He talks over your responses and is annoyed when you keep speaking. Apparently if you upset him, he manhandles you and doesn't respect boundaries. He'll shoves prescriptions at you with NO explanation. Never again, not even for my pets. Btw animals on premises if that bothers you. You're a doctor, not a god. I guessing you're still in business due to the high turnover in our area. Frequent fresh patents to fleece. Location, location, location.

Wouldn't go over test results nor answer my inquiries or requests.

It was a great relief to find such a caring doctor who took the time to correctly diagnose my problem. His PA Brian is equally kind, considerate as well as available when a situation arises. The office staff told me they love working there and I understand why. Thank you.

I have a good friend who suffered for years with her issues. I watched as she went from Doctor to Doctor and Specialist to Specialist. Her condition caused her to lose her career and just about destroyed her life. She was put on years of medications, MRI's CT scans etc. No one came up with the correct diagnosis. I was with her the Day Dr. Lifton examined her. He said "Please stand up and take a step forward. Then he said OK sit down" From that simple task he diagnosed her and put her on the proper meds. It blew me away. Shortly there after I developed my own issues. I was told I had Neurapathy in my feet and that the probable cause was an allergic reaction to the contrast dye during an angiogram. I dealt with the horrendous pain and began taking any supplement I could find to help. For financial and insurance reasons I waited to see Dr. Lifton. After witnessing his diagnosis of my friend I had total trust in him. I just saw him the other day. The man is beyond genius. … He is the King of Neurologists. He LISTENS, is passionate about his work, looks you straight in the eyes while talking to you. He's a straight shooter. He tells it exactly how it is. He's compassionate, empathetic and so professional. I never had neuraphathy. Instead it turned out to be Myelopothy brought on by an occlusion that occurred during the angiogram. Not one of my 5 other Doctors or tests figured this out. I was so frightened for so long I was actually starting to put aside for assistant living. If you are having any neurological issues of your own this man will change your life and more than likely save it. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER ...DR LIFTON is a Super Hero. He's one of Gods Archangels.....

I would not recommend him to any human being on the planet! How he earned his MD is beyond ME!

Dr. Lifton is an excellent doctor who helps me a lot from my truck accident. He listen, care about my health and I think he goes above and beyond for my medical needs. If i could rate him higher than five I would recommend him to anybody. Keep up the great work.???????? Richard Clower

Does Not Care One Bit About his Patients! Very Disrespectful! Do Not Go To Him!!
