Dr. ALOIS ZAUNER, MD is a BOARD CERTIFIED NEUROSURGEONA native of Austria who received his medical degree from the University of Vienna, Dr. Zauner spent three years in research on cerebrovascular diseases and brain metabolism at the National Institutes of Health, NINDS, and at the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his surgical internship and neurosurgical residency at the Medical College of Virginia. This was followed by a combined fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery and diagnostic and interventional Radiology at UCLA. Following his training, Dr. Zauner directed the neuroendovascular services at the University of Miami in Florida, while serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery and Radiology.Dr. Alois Zauner, the Medical Director of the Stroke and Neurovascular Center of Central California performs over 600 combined endovascular and open cranial surgeries annually to set the pace for state-of-the-art neuroendovascular techniques and for …microsurgical cranial procedures. I find Dr. Zauner to be highly professional. When my procedure took a bad turn and a vascular surgeon had to be called in, he kept checking on the surgery and importantly kept checking on my wife and helping her understand what was going on.

Dr. Zauner is a superior neurologist and neurosurgeon- compassionate, devoted to his patients and work, extremely high level of skill. An outstanding individual and physician. Truly gifted.

I want to thanks so much to Dr Zaunner to save my live, almost 4 years ago, he is so inteligent, i went to and emergency surgery, evething went well, he is the best with tears in my eyes i thank you Dr, Zaunner God bless you and your family, and all the people who work in Cottage Hospital they are wonderful.

He is the best, he saved my live, thanks to his knowledge and experience is that today am enjoying my family to the fullest. He is compasionate, intelligent , and honest those are his qualities. God bless you Dr. Zauner for everything you did for me and for all those patients you helped and will help in the future, I truly believe you are touched by gods hands. I also want to thank everyone in cottage hospital especially those nurses in the sicu you guys are wonderful, and of corse Dr. Zauners private nurses, what a team!! THANKs YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

God has angels walking around this earth that look like people, Dr. Zauner is such an angel. He helped save my mum's life, he was sensible, skilled, honest, patient, answered every question and concern and then performed a surgery we can only say was miraculous. My mum and our entire family will be including him in our prayers every night. Dr. Zauner and his PA Veronica were at the hospital many times from early in the morning till late at night, the care from the staff at Cottage can only be discribed as perfect. I hope Dr. Zauners family knows how much he has changed our lives. He is a truely magnificent human being.

My family is so thankful that Dr. Zauner performed my mom's aneurysm surgery at Cottage Hospital. He is an expert in non-invasive platinum coil procedures. He was very patient and informative answering questions; he actually listens to his patients(!) and has a sympathetic bedside manner. If we could give Dr. Zauner five stars, we would!

Dr. Zauner is up to date on the latest in Aneurysm treatment, and is very giving of his time to both the pt and the family. He was able to solve a problem with an aneurysm which could not be clipped thirty years ago, and was coated at that time. When problems surfaced recently, we had no hope that anything could be done, short of invasive surgery, which she would not have been able to tolerate. Dr. Zauner solved the problem with Onyx HD, and we are delighted at the outcome.
