Dr. Thomas Harlow Jones, MD

He does not like to help workmans comp. patients. He treated me like I was wasting his time.

When I was describing my back pain to him, he started asking me about the kind of childhood I had. Was I abused? Was it a happy childhood? So he made me think he thought I was paranoid and my pain is in my head. I went to another Dr who knew what I was talking about. Not sure what has happened to Dr. Jones, but he’s not the Dr I remember from years ago. He’s an arrogant know it all now. Careful how you describe your pain- he might start psycho analyzing you and asking about your childhood.

Dr. Jones was the only one able to get me out of debilitating pain which I have been suffering for two weeks. Four visits to the ER one visit to urgent care one visit to my primary care physician and one visit to my OB/GYN before seeing Dr. Jones. He knew right away what the problem was and had me in for much needed immediate surgery within days. I could not be happier! Sloane Harrison

My son (21yrs) had a traumatic disc herniation with neurological symptoms that if allowed to persist, could have become permanent. Checked with other neurosurgeons who agreed with Dr. Jones recommendation for immediate surgery. Would have liked more time to get more opinions and to try non-surgical methods but symptoms appeared to need immediate attention. Dr. Jones was thorough and sensitive with his explanations both pre-and post-op. He spent enough time with my wife and I to make us a bit more comfortable with what had occurred with my son's surgery and what the long term considerations would be. We had two follow-up visits during which Dr. Jones took his time with us and allowed to voice our anxiety about my son's recovery. Overall satisfied with how Dr. Jones handled our son's course of treatment though I don't quite think that Dr. Jones really made clear that my son would probably not ever really be "as good as new". My son's recovery continues to progress very slowly a year and… a half after surgery.

So easy to understand and easy to talk to. When I walked out of the room I felt a sense of relief that they were going to be able to make the pain go away!

I had a great experience with Dr. Jones! I had horrible sciatica pain and couldn't do all of my activities without pain! He discovered a small cyst between my L4 and L5, after viewing my MRI. He discussed many options that I could choose, to relieve this pain! I chose to have the surgery. It was an outpatient surgery, and I was pain free immediately afterward. I didn't even need any pain meds for the actual incision! I would recommend Dr. Jones in a heartbeat! I found him very kind and easy to talk to!

Dr. Jones came to visit my wife in the hospital when out regular surgeon, Dr. Chung, was on vacation. Dr. Jones was abrupt, arrogant, unconcerned, and lacked any modicum of compassion in dealing with us. When I expressed concern about my wife not being able to move her foot after spinal surgery, he was curt and defensive. Obviously, he did not check her functioning carefully and my wife said he did not take the time to check her incision.

I trust Dr. Jones' opinion implicitly.

I would highly recommend Dr Tom Jones. Once you adjust to his demeanor and focus on his skill you will find him the perfect choice!! He surrounds himself with an amazing and compassionate staff.

When I knew my back issues required oversight by a spine surgeon, many close friends who have suffered spine issues highly recommended Dr. Jones, located an hour south of my home. During my consultation with him, he asked a few questions about my intense pain, he looked at my MRI, and showed me the chunk of cartilage that broke off of a disc and was pressing on my femoral nerve between L3 & L4. He explained surgery would relieve pain immediately and would be outpatient. Ten days later, I saw Dr. Jones for the 2nd time and had surgery. I awoke from surgery completely pain free for the first time in 2 months and was sleeping in my own bed a few hours later. I consider his skill and professionalism impressive beyond explanation. I gave him only 3 stars for bedside manner because his style is very business like, which some consider gruff but I actually prefer. However, if you want a surgeon who is doting and exudes a natural tenderness, look elsewhere. All I wanted was an amazing… surgeon with stellar results, and I got just that.
