Dr. Amit Indravadan Patel, MD

Dr . Patel was helpful to me with a stressful condition that caused pain. He did not perform the procedure I needed, but sent me to a highly skilled reconstructive surgeon , Dr Heffernen. I greatly appreciate his help in getting me to the right place of support . He is very polite and professional and seems genuinely caring .

I visited 1 other urogynecologist and a gynecologist that both referred me to Dr. Amit Patel for surgery. I had a significant organ prolapse that resulted in a complete hysterectomy and surgical procedures to treat damage done as a result of the prolapse. (I believe it is called uterosacral or sacrospinous ligament suspension.) It was a 5-hour surgery for me. I had very minor cramps after surgery but on a scale of 1-10 I would rate around 2-3 (if that high). By the second day post, I was pain free and as I write this I am 6 days post-surgery with sill no pain. I was able to go home without a catheter and the only medication I have taken is ibuprofen which the Dr. wanted me to stay on for 2-weeks to treat inflammation. I feel wonderful and cannot believe I hesitated to do something that has really turned my life around. No longer do I feel the constant need to go to the restroom. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Amit Patel and his team.

I DO NOT recommend Dr Amit Patel! Over the last 8 months I waited for 3 hours in his office for a 10 minute consult, when I was prepped for surgery at 3:00, he could not be found and didn't show up at the hospital until after 9:00. I had complications, and again he could not be found so I ended up in the Emergency room 2 days after surgery. Now, 8 months after sugery, my bladder sling is falling out, so I am going to make an appointment with another urologist, because I will NOT go back to Dr Patel, as I don't trust him to do what is best for me!!!

Dr. Patel gave me my life back. After 2 previous bladder mesh complication surgeries I was left with debilitating symptoms that made a normal life impossible. Correcting previous surgical issues is one of his most accomplished skills. He is meticulous, thorough, straightforward, and kind. All the best qualities that you want in a surgeon. Dr. Patel has a wonderful staff as well. You do not have to just “live” with bladder symptoms. Believe me, I was almost ready to accept my “fate” when a patient of mine mentioned Dr. Patel . Best day of my life. There are not many UroGynocologists, this one is THE BEST! Thank you Dr. Patel.

My experience with Dr. Patel has been exceptional in terms of his professional conversation about ANY concerns, and knowledge he conveys; his warm concerned interaction, skills are exceptional because of the combined uro and gyno expertise. It was over1 hour drive (without traffic problem) but it was well worth it to receive the care given.

From the first visit Dr. Patel educated me on the process and procedures for not only my surgery but my continued quality of life after recovery. I always feel he and his staff take the time and ensures I understand and answers any questions I have. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and competent. He and his staff prove with each visit you are someone they care about! My favorite Doctor! Words are insufficient to express my gratitude for improving my life!

Dr. Patel is extremely thorough. He takes the time to listen and he explains everything. Surgery was a cake walk. He may be busy but his staff finds the time for an appointment. He and his staff are a well oiled machine. You are awesome Dr. Patel! Thank you.
