Dr. Amy Lindsay Howe, MD

I have no issue with Dr Howe, however, the staff and processes leave a great deal to be desired. They sent me a bill for a great deal of money, and when I called to discuss it, I could not get through to a human being or even leave a voicemail. You call, then get a text and they will call you back and hope that you are available when they call. I requested that they hold off on charging me the money since it was the first I'd heard that the insurance company had denied the claim from an office visit 4 months prior. I spoke to my insurance company and they had trouble getting through to them as well. When someone called me back from Lone Star, I asked that they call the provider line from the insurance company, because they said it was a coding error. Lone Star flatly refused to even take the number and refused to assist. They took what was left in my HSA even though we were in conversation with the insurance who agreed it should be covered! Horrible staff and pray I never have to deal… with them, and advise everyone to stay away.

Misdiagnosis and did not listen to my history. Did not get a written summary statement from Dr Howe either. Lied about being being in my network. Stay away from Dr Howe and Lone Star Neurology; find a better neurologist and office staff out there.

Dr. Howe is fantastic! I have been seeing her for years and would highly recommend her for any patient.

Visit was to confirm a diagnosis of carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome. Visit was very pleasant, office is new and clean and Dr. Howe was interested and efficient. I would recommend her to friends. Staff was very efficient and friendly.

Don't bother even contacting the office, the sraff are very rude and will argue with you. Called, provided all of my information over the phone abd set an appointment. When I showed up and presented my insurance they said that I had not told them about my secondary insurance. When I tried to say tgat there must be a mistake as I always provude both I was nit even allowed to finish speaking before they said that I was wrong.

I rarely leave reviews but my experience with Dr. Lindsay was so poor that I feel that I should share my story. I originally went to Dr. Lindsay because I began having numbness and tingling in my extremities early in 2014. She ordered an MRI of my brain and cervical and thoracic spine. This is my first issue with the way she practices medicine. The facility that she sent me to is one in which she has a vested financial interest. If she told me this or if it was in the mountain of paperwork that I signed then I completely missed it. My cervical and thoracic spine was read by a neuroradiologist at the facility but Dr. Lindsay read the MRI of my brain. Dr. Lindsay is a neurologist not a neuroradiologist therefore she should NOT read her patient's scans. The law dictates that she can and the insurance company paid her bill but she inaccurately diagnosed my condition. After paying out of pocket to hire an independent neuroradiologist to read the MRI of my brain, I was finally… diagnosed. Before I was accurately diagnosed she sent me to a chiropractor that ordered cervical traction. After two visits to the chiropractor my symptoms exponentially worsened so I decided to hire the neuroradiolost. I was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation and should never undergo cervical neck traction. Her orders could have seriously hurt me. My second issue with her, as if the first isn't enough, is that she reschedules quite frequently. She initially assumed that I had MS, so after waiting for my follow up appointment late one Friday afternoon to go over my tests results, her front office called me 30 minutes before my appointment and told me that she had a family emergency and needed to leave early. I understand that life happens, but I thought that I had MS and was a nervous wreck. No one would give me any indication of my results and their best offer was to reschedule for the following Tuesday. In my opinion, this situation was mishandled and the very definition of cruel. I am sure that Dr. Lindsay is a competent neurologist but she oversteps her area of expertise by assuming that she is as qualified as a neuroradiologist. Every doctor that I have told this story to gawks in disbelief at her arrogance and the liability that she assumes. We live in a city full of neurologists, do your due diligence and select one other than Dr. Lindsay.

At the time of this review, Dr. Howe does not have much of an internet rating Presence except on RateMDs.com where she currently has 5 reviews - Rates 2 Stars and Docspot.com where she has a rating of One Star. Unfortunately I found out a few reasons why she has poor ratings... the hard way. _______ Today was finally the day! I was referred to a Neurologist for strange calf muscle twitching that has plagued me for several years. The referral was through a great Chiropractor named Dr. Scott Bolz, which I'll do a write up on later today. I scheduled an appointment with HIGH hopes that a Neurologist can shed light on what's going on and I won't have to deal with this annoying twitching and cramping the rest of my life. (Which is what a different Neurologist at MD Anderson had explained would be the case). After getting off work early and traveling 45 minutes, I arrived at a nice little office park located at 11615 Spring Cypress Rd. Suite A, Tomball TX. I was 15 minutes… early to fill out any paperwork that would need to be completed. The office was clean and up to date with wood flooring and a small but functional waiting area. The office staff greeted me with less than typical enthusiasm, looking at me and asking if they can help me. "Yes you can help me, I have an appointment with the Dr." Thinking to myself... Hummmm... why do you think I'm here? Two female staff members were working at different desks, seeming a bit cold and lacked strong customer service skills, but hey... they can't all be perfect. They handed me the paperwork to begin to fill out and asked to see my Drivers License and Insurance card. No problem with the DL, but with all the doctors I've seen, somewhere along the way I didn't get my Insurance Card back, but have no fear, I have a photo of both the front and back on my phone. Since they already had all my information, confirmed my coverage at 100% and I had the digital photos... surly it wouldn't be a problem. The doctor's assistant sternly told me that the Dr. will not see me without my Insurance card and we will need to reschedule. With such direct and absolution that the Dr will not see me, automatically I became irritated. Irritated and perplexed because I wasn't told that I had to bring a physical copy of my Insurance Card AND I have digital photos of the card on my phone. I explained that I can show them the images AND print it for them if needed PLUS they had already verified it all the information! So no Flexibility? Apparently not. After I strongly argued my point, she said she would talk to the Dr and disappeared through a door. A few minutes passed and knew the Dr. would tell her that it's not a problem. Worst case scenario I could see the Dr. and bring a hard copy in later. I was wrong. She returned to let me know that the Dr. will not see me without physically having the card. So my mind is racing as my blood pressure rose. Why in the world would this be the case? Makes no sense whatsoever. If this is a security issue, such as someone claiming to be someone they are not, don't they think that if I went through the trouble of creating a fake Drivers Lic that I would create an easy to print Fake Insurance Card? I stood up and asked that they give the Dr. a message to the Dr for me. "I am not going to reschedule and she has lost a patient. Goodbye." And I walked out the door. So here is what I determined: Dr. and staff don't care about the people walking in their front door. This is very important when dealing with a Dr. If they can't be flexible and have compassion at this stage of our relationship then what will it be like later? Staff and Dr. lack fundamental customer service skills. The vibe was negative from the moment I walked in the door. I've seen this before and it always amazes me that a front office is not welcoming people with a smile and compassion. Care level of Dr Amy Howe and her staff = ZERO I'm now off to find a real Dr. that cares.

This doctor doesn't need to be in business. I can't believe she thinks I'm going to wait 2 months for my results. I wish I read the reviews prior to my appt. this so called dr had no concern for me. If she did I would have had a sooner appt. I have now changed drs and I'm able to have me results next week and not 2 months. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this person.

This is by far the worst medical experience. Dr Nash does not respect her patient's time or emotions. Twice I have arrived for appointments only to find the appointment cancelled without advising me. No one at Nash's office could provide an explanation or apologize. I have completed the expensive tests she ordered but cannot get the results. Now my follow-up appointment has been rescheduled 4 months out.

I did everything dr nash asked me to do.. MRI and blood work within a few days of the appointment. They made me wait over a month for the next appointment and then canceled on me the same day due to family emergency. Then they gave me another appointment 3 weeks from now!!! It has been over a month and they haven't shared my results with me!! I feel as though they do not care for their patients. They told me she couldn't tell me any results over the phone but they think it's ok to keep people waiting over a month! It's cruel.
