I had been to several other doctors that did not provide an accurate diagnosis for my hoarseness. I am impressed from the care that I recieved and extremely confident that Dr. Amy Rutt is the right choice to provide the best medical care for me. She explained everything In detail and walked me through my Issue so that I had a clear understanding. Having a professional that is accurate and caring is a huge relief to me.

Referred by local ENT, I saw Dr. Rutt in office x2. First visit, she seemed friendly and interested. However, after numbing my throat for a test, I was sent out to the waiting room, drooling, and unable to swallow, without tissues and having to get paper from the rest room. 2nd visit, she seemed determined to prove her diagnosis of ILO (inducible laryngeal obstruction) by performing a nasal endoscopy and continually irritated my throat until I actually had an asthma attack. She promptly left the room, leaving me with the speech therapist. The 2 tests were inconclusive with reports of difficulty with equipment and being unable to visualize throat adequately. Diagnosis is subglottal stenosis, made by Shands ENT. Experience with Dr. Rutt was scary and unnecessary.

The dr, nurse, and speech therapists don't communicate. We walked out of the office with one feeling, but were messaged completely different results through the portal. Feel lied too. This one department/doctor is making me question the credibility of all of Mayo Clinic.
