Dr. Andrew R Simonsen, DO

Our daughter was scheduled for a short procedure but was canceled because she had half a cup of clear broth 5 hours and 45 minutes before. We asked to speak to someone about why it was canceled and not delayed. By the time someone had come, it had been 7 and a half hours since she had eaten it, Dr. Simonsen was still operating on the previously scheduled patient, and another anesthesiologist had spoken to us saying their staff was now comfortable and willing to proceed at that point. However, we were told Dr. Simonsen just didn't want to do the procedure anymore and he refused to speak to us again or explain his reasoning. Multiple staff members told us that they tried to convince him otherwise. The entire experience was confusing and frustrating to our family. How he can do that to a 7 year old girl who needs the procedure done, took off from school, and had otherwise not eaten for almost 24 hours? To us, this seemed unethical, unprofessional, and immoral.

Dr. Simonsen took great care of my daughter. He was so patient and great with her. He really knew his stuff and seemeed to truly care about her. The office was very nice and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend him to anyone!
