Worst experience ever ! every time I call to make an appointment DR turtle is always on vacation.

Wow, what a great experience I had today visiting Dr. Turtel's office. His office staff are incredibly polite, caring, and efficient. The doctor saw me without any wait. He has good people skills and is kind and supportive. He is very professional and competent. He immediately got to work assessing my shoulder and on the road to recovery. I am so pleased that I chose to see Dr. Turtel.

Dr. Turtel operated on my knee over a year ago. I was fully covered by insurance, I paid up to my deductible, everything seemed good. A year later I find out someone in his office neglected to get all the proper authorization for the surgery, and the insurance company didn't compensate his office because of it. Now because of their mistake they are passing on tens of thousands of dollars of bills to me, despite my having been fully insured. All they had to do was take care of paperwork on their end. Now they're coming after me. I say this to warn anyone else, this is an incompetent office that will end putting you in a nightmare scenario.

Dr. Turtel represents a dying breed in the medical profession. A doctor who personally and professionally cares about his patients. An Exceptional Surgeon, his entire practice focuses on you as a patient, and devotes 100% of his time and experience. He has operated on both Left?Right Rotator Cuff tears and brought me back to full mobility and function. He sees all patients himself, not a PA in sight!! Not one of the Orthopedic mills many have become! Not here.

I have been a patient of Dr.Turtel for the past thirteen years and I can say without hesitation that he is an extremely competent and professional physician. Having surgery is serious business and I've had the upmost confidence and trust in him! After consultations and MRI's, it is only when necessary that he recommends surgery. As a retired teacher, it's always comforting when another professional makes the diagnostic process understandable.

Very happy with the service and care

Saw him for a second opinion on my shoulder. Very pleasant guy, was prompt, spent time with me.... But,I felt he was trying to scare me into surgery, which is much more profitable for him. I learned a lot from his analysis of my MRI, and he certainly is well trained and smart. However, he contriticted himself several times. When he performed a physical exam he said my cuff tear was likely 5% , and if it was a full thickness tear I would have much more significant symptons. However, when he was tyring to persuade me to have surgery, he said that a MRI is not very accurate and what if they go in during surgery and find a full cuff tear? Um, three minutes earlier he said it was only a tiny tear, and I would not have so few symptons if it was a full tear. So, I sort of lost trust in him at that point, and I had made up my mind that I would not be coming back. And another small thing, his secretary told him a patient was on hold, and he said would be with them in a minute.… About 10 mintues later he giggled and then said "oops, I forgot about the patient on hold". He then asked his assistant to get him some coffee. Listen, we all have bad days when we are tired, and for all I know he has very young children who keep him up.But that made me feel nervous and uncomfortable that he might do something else scatter brained on the day of my procedure. I would not want him to forget about something serious on my operation day. I wont be going back. Good luck and hope you find good treatment.
