Dr. Angelo P. Tanna, MD

Arrogant, poor time management (1 hour wait after appt but less than 10 min consultation), and patient manner that would get him kicked out of med school (spent more time talking with the observing med students than the patient.) Spoke minimally about test results and recommended treatment. Highly, highly urge new patients to seek other providers.

Dr Tanna has been a real gem! He is kind and very aware of your needs. He is truly a talented and caring glaucoma specialist. I recommend him highly.

I moved to Chicago and have seen scores of ophthalmologists over the years. Someone suggested Dr. Tanna. In addition to being arrogant after several visits he was unable to lower my elevated eye pressure. I went to see a specialist Dr. Brown at Rush hospital and after only ONE visit he was able to lower my pressure significantly, something Dr. Tanna didn’t achieve in 5-6 visits. I could comment on his other negative traits but I’ll let the medical results above tell the story. Thank god I left him.

He does have a sense of arrogance to him and is a little rude. Maybe he's looking at too many eyes each day, so being concerned with politeness over bluntness is not top on his list. Otherwise, he is doing his job.

Dr Tanna may be an "expert" in glaucoma, but his manner is arrogant, condescending, and defensive when asked questions.

I am a glaucoma patient with a unique and difficult case, and there is no other doctor in Chicago who I would want treating me. The office is always crowded and Dr. Tanna sometimes seems rushed, but when you really need him to slow down and answer your questions, he has never let me down. The more I get to know him, the studies I read and questions that I ask him, the more confident I become that he is truly an expert on the cutting edge of research in this very difficult disease.

Dr. Tanna has lot of confidence. I trust him in treating my husband's glaucoma. He he have lots of patients, so I understand that every minute counts with him when he is with patients, so he entertains only logical questions. My husband is feeling much better now , that he is under the care of one of the best doctor in America. Thanks to Dr. Tanna, for saving my husbands eyes.

I had pain and blurry vision from glaucoma drops. Dr. Tanna changed the medications. My pain is gone and my eye pressure is actually lower. He knows all the details about the side effects of medications and was very helpful.
