Dr. Anika Goel, MD

Worst doctor experience ever! Dr. Goel was horrible! She immediately was dismissive regarding my MRI results. I came to her with a NeuroQuant MRI report that showed brain atrophy in three parts of my brain. She was unfamiliar with the test and dismissed it as "gimicky." Clearly she needs professional development. Precision Imaging new exactly what NeuroQuant is because it requires a specific protocol to set up the MRI machine. Typical brain MRIs are INTERPRETIVE. The NeuroQuant brain MRI is based on quantitative data. It even has CPT codes 0865T and 0866T. NOT GIMMICKY! This is a quote from NIH: "NeuroQuant® is a recently developed, FDA-approved software program for measuring brain MRI volume in clinical settings. The purpose of this study was to compare NeuroQuant with the radiologist’s traditional approach, based on visual inspection, in 20 outpatients with mild or moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI). Each MRI was analyzed with NeuroQuant, and the resulting volumetric analyses… were compared with the attending radiologist’s interpretation. The radiologist’s traditional approach found atrophy in 10.0% of patients; NeuroQuant found atrophy in 50.0% of patients. NeuroQuant was more sensitive for detecting brain atrophy than the traditional radiologist’s approach." Again, it would be extremely beneficial if this neurologist actually did some research instead of dismissing me completely. She refused to work with me and referred me to another neurologist. She should be ashamed and embarrassed!

My recent experience with Dr. Goel was disappointing and left me feeling unseen and unheard as a patient. Her manner was short, curt, and very matter-of-fact. When I asked questions, her responses came across as dismissive and at times challenging, which made it difficult to feel comfortable or supported during the visit. Although she ordered labs, an MRI, and nerve conduction tests, the follow-up did not provide any meaningful guidance. The results were essentially repeated back to me with no deeper exploration into potential causes for my condition. Despite undergoing all of the recommended testing, I was left without answers or a plan. The conclusion I was given was essentially, “I don’t know what’s wrong with you,” with no direction on next steps, treatment options, or referrals to other specialists. DO NOT GO TO HER. A physician’s role is not only to run tests, but also to engage with patients, explain findings, and guide them toward possible solutions. Unfortunately, that level… of care was missing in my visit with Dr. Goel.

Dr. Goel is best.Professional, kind, and caring. I cannot recommend a physician as much as I do Dr. Goel

They genuinely don’t make doctors like Dr. Goel anymore. I have suffered from migraines for years and have been on countless medications without help. Since switching medications, my life has changed. I just wish I had gone to her sooner.

She reviewed my medication sheet, took the time to look at my bp logs and wrote recommendations down on a piece of paper so I would not forget. I felt listened to

Exellent doctor! Very knowledgeable and very good listener . Pleasant to deal with and diagnosed the issue even before seeing the MRI Would highly recommend!

As she is in the Baptist Health System, she failed to pull all my health notes from the universal system. Other doctors had done this with no issues. Yet, she decided to lecture me on responsibility to bring my diagnosis. When I am looking for her diagnosis. What showed her true laziness, was when she stated to bring the neurologists notes and diagnosis and DO NOT bring the MRI scans. If I'm asking for a second opinion, wouldn't that mean she would need to actually have to make a diagnosis by looking at the footage and not someone else's notes.

She is the best

She explained my diagnosis in detail. She took time to make sure I understood.

My mother has ALzheimer's disease. Dr.goel always meets me in another room prior to my mother's appt and talks to my brother and I. She is straightforward and kind. Always trying to put us at ease.
