Dr. Anita G Rao, MD

I had an appointment for an arthroscopy with dr Anita rao only to be told they weren’t gonna do it because she determined that based off my xray that there wasn’t anything she could do and proceeded to go on about physical therapy and I told her I had been doing physical therapy for awhile and then she looked at my medical chart and saw that I’ve been consistently been doing physical therapy since July . She clearly didn’t read my chart about my ongoing knee pain . She also mentioned a note in my chart about my bipolar disorder which had nothing to do with what I was seeing her for. It was like she was trying to imply something I felt like after she saw that in my chart that she started dismissing me. I started crying when she told me that nothing can be done and I asked her so I’m just gonna be in pain forever ?. She said there’s nothing to be done. Just be active .how can someone with knee instability be active. That’s the whole reason for why I was scheduled for the arthroscopy… because I’m still having knee instability and pain. I tried explaining to her what I’d been dealing with and she kept cutting me off and not letting me speak. I haven’t stopped crying since I left the doctors office . When I started crying even harder .She took off before I could even ask her anything further . Dr Anita rao is insensitive,unprofessional,rude and judgmental. I don’t recommend anyone going to see her for anything. I’m a pretty calm person. This is the first time I’ve ever had someone treat me so terribly that they’ve made me cry.

Dr. Rao replaced my right shoulder and I am so grateful for the wonderful surgery she performed. I have wonderful range of motion and no pain anymore.

Dr. Rao did a shoulder replacement on me 2 weeks ago & I couldn't be happier. She truly is a gifted surgeon & when I have to have the other shoulder done (approx. 6 months), I will definitely want her to do the surgery. This woman is brilliant!

I do not remember the staff or wait time that well, but I do remember Dr. Rao's mannerisms and professionalism along with her bedside manner was amazing. Super sweet and caring giving adequate time and not rushing. If I broke anything again I would go back to her.
