Dr. Anthony Wayne Morton, MD

Dr Morton and his accountant Son Fowlers are most uncaring dr I’ve ever met. I used to see him for about 15 years. The man never seemed genuine. But I stayed because of not wanting to start over and he knew my history. What a mistake. During all this covid 19 stuff, I missed one 50.00 payment. Dr Morton and his staff discharged me. Even though I made up that payment. The worst part is , they took two months to give me a straight awnser. Meanwhile all my medicines run out. I offer to pay off any balances owed. And never could speak to the Sonja lady that calls the shots with the dr. I had to call corporate to get someone to tell me the reason. And yes. They are still getting their money from me. But left me with out a dr. That’s fine. Corp helped me find another dr. I would not recommend anyone put their health in dr Mortons hands. He is in for the dollar signs only. Yes. We all want to get paid. He is still getting paid by me. Even Corp said it was not right and agreed it… was not a fair decision. Take it for what it’s worth. The dr just don’t care enough about people to give them the proper medical treatment. That’s just my experience tho.

Dr. Morton is very kind and personable. He is a good listener and eager to help. He is very knowledgeable with his medical assessments. Also, he puts you at ease and is very comical. I feel Dr. Morton is an excellent Doctor.

He seemed nice the two times i saw him. However he swore up and down that i had mono but the antibiotics didn't work. When I went back a second time he said it could be something serious but when the test came back, it was just a sinus infection? He also gave my grandpa some antidepressants that MESSED HIM UP. I've heard only bad things about him... I probably won't go back and I advise others not to go either, just in case.

I would rather have given a negative star. He had no compassion and he was rude and arrogant. Before I would use him again I would go see my vet!! This Dr. needs to take a trip to Oz and ask the wizard for a heart!!!!!!

My wife took me b/c I couldn't drive and had to bring our 2 yr old with. While gathering background he told my wife to leave the room with our daughter b/c he could gather a complete background with the child in the room. The toddler was not whiny, not crying, simply looking at a book. She addressed him when he walked in the room and he would not proceed until my wife and child left. He continued to not listen to me and when he asked about my stress level at home I told him it was fine he didn't believe me and asked several more times until I firmly told him that coming home was the best part of my day. He stated too bad she isn't in here to hear you say that...I replied yeah until you kicked her out. He never even apologized. Still ended up having to schedule with another doctor. He was a waste of my time. He could have gotten better back ground info and what was wrong with me if he left my wife in the room...she keeps up with that much better than I.

The pharmacy tried to reach the doctor for a refill and their office refused to respond. Not a very reliable practice!!

We feel that he is part of a group of greedy doctors who feed patients to each other.He will have you, sometimes force you to, take unnecessary test so he can over bill your insurance company. If you work on a job that is regulated by TN Dept. of Transportation, he can keep you off work indefinitely. If you have no short term disability insurance, you may be forced off work without pay indefinitely.He is currently doing this to my husband. My husband went to him complaining about back pain. Sometimes his back pain causes chest pain which he happened to mention to Morton.Morton asked him to take a treadmill test for his heart. The treadmill test is not 100% accurate. Morton said he failed the test and is forcing him to take more tests that my husband does not want to take and feels is unnecessary.He has had my husband off work now for over a month without pay. We have no short term disability insurance. We have no means of covering the pay he is missing from work.We have explained that… to Morton and have begged him to sign a release so my husband can go back to work. Morton will not release him.We have filed a complaint against him with the TN Dept. of Health.We are also talking to lawyers.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and is truly a man that I feel like I can trust as my primary care physician. He has won awards and also is generally regarded as one of the best doctors in the Knoxville area. My family and I will continue to use Dr. Morton for years to come.
